La Cantina de San Angel first open in 1982 in Epcot’s World Showcase Mexico area and was recently given a new home in 2010. The new Cantina shares a building with the new restaurant addition to Epcot’s Mexico, La Hacienda de San Angel. The architecturally beautiful new building has also brought a new location with gorgeous views along World Showcase lagoon.

La Cantina continues to serve a variety of tacos, empenadas, nachos and drinks. The food here is filling and up to the quality of the sit down restaurants found nearby. Besides traditional Mexican soda, beer, and flavored water you can pick up your favorite margaritas here. Margarita flavors include Lime, Raspberry, Passion fruit, and Coffee… yes you read that right: coffee margaritas! This counter-service favorite also has chicken tenders as one of the children’s options as well as delicious churros and popsicles for dessert!

Whether you need a respite from a day in the park and are looking for a place with serene and scenic views of the lagoon, or starving and in need of a place to refuel, La Cantina de San Angel will hit the spot.

I was nervous about going here because there were so many bad reviews on so many sites, but we thought the food was good, the service was good, and the atmosphere was perfect. We had ADRs and they told us we could do the boat ride while they got our table ready. We were on the dining plan, so even though the menu items were a little pricey, it was fine for us.
