What’s Coming Up at Disney’s California Adventure Park
We’ve talked about some of the new, exciting attractions and experiences coming to Disney’s California Adventure park here on the Disney Parks Blog. There are so many fun changes ahead – how can you keep track? Here’s a 4-minute video to get you started and to help give you an overview. As you’ll see, these changes are bringing more Disney into the park and will give you even more to do. Disney Park Ticket Prices Holding Firm For Now
Every year around the first of the year Disney shares with us a tradition, a rate increase on tickets. So far no news as of yet if there will be a rate increase. If you remember Disney raised its ticket prices on both coasts back in August:
Disneyland Resort: Single Day/Single Park tickets will increase by $3 to $72 per Adult and $62 per Child; Premium Annual passes are up $40 to $429; Deluxe Annual Pass is up $20 to $298; Southern California Annual pass is up $20 to $194; and Southern California Select Annual pass is up $10 to $144.
Walt Disney World: 1 Day Base Ticket will increase $4 to $79 per Adult and $5 to $68 per Child; Magic Your Way tickets with 4 days or more will see the smallest percentage in increase; Both the Park Hopping and the Water Parks Fun & More options will increase to a flat rate of $52 (up $2)
Actually after posting an article I found earlier about Disney scaling back it’s theme park discounts they went ahead and released the Gift Card promotion just a few months later. DOH! I am not sure what is going on down at Walt Disney Co, I think all businesses even Disney is struggling in this lousy economy.
On a more encouraging note the Give a Day, Get a Day is off to a tremendous start! The website was so flooded with people wanting to sign up they crashed the server. Be sure to take advantage of that and give back to the people in your community.

MacPherson Promoted at Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment
Lori MacPherson has been upped to EVP, GM of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.
MacPherson reports directly to Bob Chapek, president of distribution at The Walt Disney Studios, who made the announcement. Chapek said the veteran studio executive will be responsible for the worldwide strategic product management, sales and distribution of Disney packaged media and digital sellthrough content, including animated and live-action motion pictures, Touchstone and Disney Channel movies, as well as Preschool, Baby Einstein and ABC television home entertainment products.
The 18-year Disney executive earned kudos for helping Disney’s home entertainment unit set record sales performances for popular live-action franchises “Pirates of the Caribbean†and “National Treasure,†the direct-to-video “Tinker Bell†and “Buddies†series, top family titles such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Wall-E and Bolt, and popular TV DVD titles such as “Lost,†“High School Musical†and “Grey’s Anatomy.â€
MacPherson was named in Home Media Magazine’s “Women of Home Entertainment†issue for four consecutive years.
“Lori MacPherson’s formidable talents and abilities have been key in guiding our business in North America,†Chapek said. “Her tremendous leadership and strategic contributions will be critical to our continued success and advancements in the global marketplace.â€
