Basketball All-Star, Kyrie Irving (of the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers) and teen actress, Olivia Holt (Disney XD’s “Kickin’ It”) have signed on in a unique ownership role with PlayMG™ Corp., as formerly announced by company today. The duo will play a significant role in the creative direction of the PlayMG Android gaming system, working closely with the company on specifics including device and case design, App recommendations, marketing campaigns and its social media platform.
Irving and Holt’s mutual interest in App-based games prompted them to become immediate friends upon meeting, so when the opportunity to become a partner at PlayMG Corp presented itself, they both jumped at the chance. “I am excited to team up with PlayMG! Spending many hours on the road during the season, I am always looking for new and different App-based games, so collaborating with an App-gaming system makes perfect sense for me,” said Kyrie Irving. “I am looking forward to partnering with Olivia to bring something new and different to young people who want to game and share with them the PlayMG experience.”
In addition to working with the company on the design and marketing of the device, Irving and Holt will also provide PlayMG users with something that no other company has access to: a weekly update on their favorite Apps. Starting this summer, both celebrities will send out a weekly update of their favorite new Apps, while also seeking feedback from fans on their favorite Apps, tips and tricks.
MG App-gaming system is now available from Amazon.com and PlayMG.com at a suggested retail price of $179.99. The MG was specifically designed to fill a void currently experienced by young people who are not old enough to have their own smartphones, or whose parents have found data plans costs prohibitive. Unlike other handheld gaming devices, the MG does not demand expensive $40+ cartridge games and enables young people to enter the world of free, portable app play.
