Morimoto Asia Disney Springs Dinner Dining Review

Good Asian Cuisine is hard to find here in Central Florida.  We were fortunate enough to get a dinner reservation at Morimoto Asia this  past weekend where good Asian Cuisine, a festive yet relaxed atmosphere, and excellent customer service can all be found in abundance.

Here is our Dinner Dining Review of the amazing experience we had at Morimoto Asia Disney Springs.

The menus offer a lot of choices from Beer, Sake, and Specialty Cocktails, to Sushi, Small Plates, and Dim Sum to name a few.

To begin with we were seated at a lovely circular booth.  We decided to order two Specialty Cocktails.  The Mango Matcha Punch had a thicker consistency from the lychee.  Combined with the Mango, this drink was incredibly delicious.  The Sake Sangria was a crisp and fresh cocktail that had a nice fruity flavor.

At the suggestion of our Server Antonio, we ordered the Key West Shrimp Tempura from the small plates section of the menu and the Spicy Tuna Roll from the Sushi Rolls section of the menu.  We enjoyed the Key West Shrimp Tempura as it was crunchy and provided just a hint of spiciness.  Morimoto Asia makes its own low-sodium soy sauce and this made the Spicy Tuna Roll extra special.

Our Fans, following us that evening on our Chip and Company Facebook page, recommended the Morimoto Spare Ribs, the Tuna Pizza, and the Duck Ramen.  The pork ribs are made with a hoisin sweet chili glaze and we loved this dish.  We asked our Server Antonio what gives these ribs the magnificent crunch and he told us that they add corn starch to the sauce.  Corn starch it is!  The Tuna Pizza had a unique flavor.  The crust is a very thin crispy tortilla that offered a unique flavor with a jalapeno punch.  The Duck Ramen was a great choice to offer us the opportunity to sample the duck that Morimoto is famous for.  We were expecting it to be quite salty, and in fact it was not.  This is another item we will definitely order again and we did enjoy the flavor of the duck in this dish.

We tried the Kakuni Pork Bao, from the Dim Sum section of the menu, as we were intrigued by the ingredients of steamed buns, braised pork belly, lettuce and spicy mayo.  One of us really liked the braised pork belly, and one of us really liked the steamed bun, offered in this dish.  The Morimoto “buri-bop” was a must try as Chef Morimoto created this dish on Iron Chef.  Prepared tableside, the Morimoto “buri-bop” contains Korean Style Yellowtail, which we really like.  This dish is prepared in a hot clay pot with rice and an egg yolk.  The Yellowtail is seared lightly and placed on top of the combined rice and egg yolk.

You can see our video of the Morimoto “buri-bop” being prepared for us tableside, by William, here:

For dessert we ordered the Churro Fondue.  These house-made Churros are served with nutella and vanilla cream; a flavorful combination.  We also ordered the Cream Caramel.  This dish was interesting with the black sesame air cake.  The sesame truly gives this dish its unique flavor and the base is very similar to creme brulee without the crunch on top.

The atmosphere inside Morimoto Asia Disney Springs is fun and relaxing all at the same time.  There is a Sushi Bar, a Bar, and additional seating on the second floor.  We were particularly intrigued by the chandeliers, the upstairs bar and the candlelit bridge.  You can sit in the bar area and order drinks and food, or get a reservation and have table seating.  They do accept walk-ups pending availability.  The Disney Dining Plan is accepted here and will use two table service entitlements from your plan for dinner.

One of our absolute favorite parts of our dining experience was our Server Antonio.  He knows everything there is to know about the menu items.  We asked a lot of questions and he was able to answer every single one of them.  Antonio made suggestions when we were not sure of certain items, and he was incredibly patient with us.  If you have a dining reservation for dinner at Morimoto Asia Disney Springs, be sure to ask if you can sit in Antonio’s section!

Morimoto Asia Disney Springs offers a truly enjoyable meal in an atmosphere that is comfortable.  We highly recommend a dining reservation to allow for the full experience, but if you cannot get a reservation then be sure to stop by and enjoy some small plates and cocktails in one of the bar areas.  You will not be disappointed with the quality of food and the service provided at this lovely restaurant.
