NEWCOMER DOVE CAMERON LANDS DUAL ROLES IN UPCOMING DISNEY CHANNEL SITCOM, “LIV & MADDIE”
Also Stars in Disney Channel Original Movie, “Cloud 9″

Seventeen-year-old Dove Cameron has landed the dual role of identical twins in the newly-ordered comedy series, “Liv & Maddie” (working title), for Disney Channel. Cameron will star additionally in “Cloud 9,” an upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie also announced today.

The series, created and executive-produced by John Beck and Ron Hart (both of “According to Jim”), begins production in April for a fall 2013 premiere. Andy Fickman (“The Game Plan,” “Race to Witch Mountain”), John Peaslee and Betsy Sullenger are also executive producers, and Fickman will direct episodes for the series.

The announcement was made today by Adam Bonnett, Senior Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channel. Bonnett said: “We’ve challenged one very talented teen with the opportunity to play two sitcom roles simultaneously, and we’re confident that she will continue — at double speed — our track record of presenting relatable characters and comedic stories for a generation of kids and families.” He continued: “From ‘wizardly’ visual effects and blogging dogs to musical production numbers and one actress in dual roles, Disney Channel is investing in creative new ways to experiment with the multi-camera format.”

The sitcom introduces identical twins Liv, a popular television star whose hit show has just finished its run, and Maddie, an outstanding student and school basketball phenomenon whose popularity is on the rise… that is until Liv makes a triumphant return to their Wisconsin high school. Complicating their teenage life even more is that their parents both work at their school.

Also starring are standup comedian Joey Bragg and newcomer Tenzing Norgay Trainor as the younger brothers, Benjamin King as their dad, a basketball coach, and Kali Rocha as their mom, a school psychologist. “Liv & Maddie” is from It’s A Laugh Productions, Inc.

Woah my head is spinning this seems like such a cool idea don’t you think? It’s like Sonny With a Chance , Hannah Montana and Sister Sister had a baby! I LOVE this idea one girl playing two roles is definitely something not done often on a sitcom and a teenage stand up comedian this show is sure to be funny!!
