Hollywood Studios is Testing a Mobile App to Pre-order your Food During Fantasmic

Just another step in the further automation Of Disney World. Hollywood Studios is testing out a mobile app where you can order your food during Fantasmic. This could reduce wait times by quite a bit. The App is called “Express Order” and you will need Bluetooth capability and location services on your phone in order to use this app. You can download the app for Apple and Android.

Your order will be paid for at pickup or on delivery. You can only pay using a credit card or Apple Pay. As of right now there is no option to pay with cash or to use dining credits.

The testing at Backlot Express will go like this:

• Starting April 28 to May 4 2015, you will be able to order from the app and pickup food at a counter on a tray for dine-in, or pickup in a to-go bag for take-out.

• Then from May 5 to May 12 2015, you will be able to have an order ready for pickup in a bag to take out, or have the order delivered to a table.

• At Fantasmic!, the test will take place from April 28 to May 12 2015. You will be able to order from a food and beverage menu, and some merchandise. The service will be available during the Fantasmic! pre-show and the first performance of the night and only then!
