Greek yogurt is growing in popularity thanks to its thick, creamy consistency, and lower sugar content, but it still hasn’t caught on for kids. Now Chobani Greek Yogurt is seeking to market a product for toddlers, to be available in the now familiar pouches, and to add a little edge, they’re partnering with Disney to have characters on the pouches. Now, what little prince or princess doesn’t want some Winnie-the-Pooh yogurt?

Disney characters are a great marketing tool, and Disney isn’t likely to lend its name to something that doesn’t meet high standards. This could be a great move for Chobani, as they and other Greek yogurt companies are seeing a slow down in the increase of sales. While sales have radically increased in the last 4 years, they may be plateauing, and that makes it a great time to reach out to a new demographic. If kids start enjoying Greek yogurt at a young age, they may carry on purchasing it as they get older. If they have a beloved connection to a brand thanks to a partnership with Disney, it could mean great things for Chobani.

Currently, Disney offers Kid’s Power Packs meals, which while not specifically marketed for toddlers, are certainly filled with things toddlers are familiar with and love – apple slices or carrots and ranch dip, cheese sticks, Goldfish brand crackers, a cookie, choice of small drinks, and yogurt. This pairing with Chobani may mean that the Chobani Kids pouches will soon be found in the Power Packs. Making this not only a kid-friendly meal or snack box, but not a bad snack for guests of any age.

Do your kids like yogurt?  How about Greek yogurt? Are you intrigued or excited about the prospect of a lower-sugar option in yogurt for your kids?  What are your thoughts on this partnership?
