Finding Dory” had a stellar opening last weekend at the box office, having brought in $135 million domestically. These numbers made the film rank as the highest grossing opening weekend of an animated film ever, as well as the second highest June opening of any movie. With it’s second weekend now beginning to wrap up, it is still going strong.

So far during its second weekend in theaters, “Finding Dory” has already brought in $75 million, making it the #1 movie of the weekend box office. It even topped Fox’s opening of “Independence Day: Resurgence” this weekend, which made $43 million.  These box office numbers have made “Finding Dory” the seventh highest second-weekend ever for a film! Overall, “Dory” has brought in   $287,213,059 worldwide.

Comparatively, “Frozen”, the highest grossing animated film of all time made $93,933,226 worldwide by its second weekend. With “Finding Dory” having almost made triple this amount, could it replace the title “Frozen” currently holds?
