Do you tip Mousekeeping while you are at Walt Disney World?

Many people travel to Walt Disney World for something special, from a birthday to anniversary to family reunion and more. You should always share your celebration with Disney! Disney goes above and beyond to make sure their guests have a magical experience. One of the ways they can do this is by helping you celebrate your occasion. When you add a celebration to your Disney World resort reservation, this can make many parts of your vacation special! Here are some ways you can start celebrating at Disney World!

The celebration begins when you check in to your Disney World resort. With your check in materials you receive, Disney will include special buttons for each person in your party indicating the event you are celebrating. If someone in your party is celebrating a birthday, there will even be a line on the button’s to indicate who’s birthday you are celebrating! These buttons are great because they let everyone around know that you are celebrating and cast members will often acknowledge them.

Mousekeeping, Disney World’s housekeeping, will also add special touches to your celebration. They often decorate your room with any items you leave out such as Mickey ears or stuffed animals. They will also often make animals and shapes out of towels to leave for you. On my honeymoon, we found “LOVE” spelled out and two swans on our bed, all made out of towels. They also took my bridal ears and hung them in our resort window. (picture above)

Disney will also help you celebrate through your meals, which is why the Disney Dining Plan is important! (Don’t forget, you can make reservations up to 180 days in advance!) The experiences can vary by restaurant and celebration, but Disney goes out of their way to do something special for your celebration. I have gotten a special cupcake, chocolate covered strawberries, and a card signed from characters at various restaurants at Disney World. They even decorated our table with confetti and ribbon at one restaurant. All of this is at no extra cost to you!

No matter what event, what could be more special than celebrating at Disney World?

What special event have you celebrated at Disney World? What was your favorite surprise from Disney to help make your celebration even more special?

Magically Yours,
Siera

  1. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside… worst customer service ever and total disregard for our celebration! It was our 10th family trip to Disney (obviously we love it) but it really tainted my daughter’s birthday experience.

  2. Oh my goodness! I am sorry (and shocked!) to hear that! Did you stay at a Disney resort? You should have received the buttons upon check-in. They will also give them to you at any guest services location if you ask! I hope that your next Disney vacation turns out better!

  3. We recently celebrated our daughter’s 16th birthday at Disney World (per her request) and we found the whole experience far from special. While we did include her birthday with our reservation, there were no buttons, cupcakes, or any special treatment… not even a ‘Happy Birthday’ from any staff member. As longtime Disney vacationers this last trip was a dud and the Disney customer service during our trip was a big zero! We were very disappointed with the whole experience.
