On Friday, a minor controversy erupted across the web when a new Bret Michaels song featuring “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus hit the web. Why? The lyrics contained suggestive material about “getting undressed” and “falling” on top of your lover.
In an interview with Us Magazine, the former “Rock of Love” host (who is also part of the upcoming season of “Celebrity Apprentice“) was shocked by some of the comments: “As God is my witness, there is nothing I have to be defensive about…I’m a good Dad. I just thought it was a beautiful song. ”
Michaels also added that “the part where it says she slowly gets undressed, Miley says, ‘Yeah she does.’ It has no reference to her and I. It’s not even a duet.”
Miley’s involvement in “Nothing to Lose” came about as a result of her working on another song. The singer reportedly re-recorded Michaels’ classic Poison hit “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” with him on board as a producer — he played her this new song during a break, and she offered to supply some backup vocals.
