Disneyland Resort Slowly Introducing Changes to FastPass System

We reported late last year that the FastPass System at Disneyland was in for some changes with plans to introduce a new service called MaxPass .   This new $10 a day service allows visitors to make FastPass reservations directly from the Disneyland App rather than having to make a mad dash to the various FastPass locations to stock up.  The$10 fee to use the service is per person however, Disney has said that one person will be able to manage the reservations for an entire party using the app.  The MaxPass will also include a PhotoPass service that will offer guests downloads of  photos taken during their time at the parks.

In preparation for the new MaxPass system, Disney is making some changes to the current system beginning June 21st.  From this date forward, guests will still have to go to the usual FastPass locations to pick up their paper tickets but the way that they will be redeemed is changing.  According to a post by Laughing Place, guests, instead of having their printed FastPasses scanned in order to gain access to the attraction will instead have their ticket or Annual Pass scanned instead.   The paper FastPasses are intended to serve merely as a reminder of the times that guests should show up for the attraction.

This marks one of the first steps the Disneyland Resort will be taking in 2017 allowing them to move toward the new MaxPass system.   Readers are encouraged to  watch this space for the latest Disneyland news and updates.
