Disney World Quick Tips Using Your Extra Meal and Snack Credits

While on the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan, you are entitled to two meals and one snack per person, per day of your stay.  At first glance, we often wonder if we will have enough.  Then, as we are on our last days at the parks, we realize that we have been having so much magical fun that we do have some credits to use before going home!  Keep in mind that some of these foods travel better by car than by air.  But, if you’re creative and thoughtful, you’ll be going home with some goodies to keep the magic going after you’ve left the parks.  Also, with the Disney Dining Plan offering one table service, one quick service, and one snack per person per day, that can seem like a daunting amount of food.  What if you fill up on table service for a meal, and the thought of eating a quick service meal seems unappetizing.  Before you know it, you’ll be left with several quick service dining credits at the end of your trip.

Here are some tips we like to do with our left over credits:

  • On one of your last park days, consider ordering a pizza from your QSD location at your resort.  When you do so, you get a non alcoholic beverage, a full size pizza, and two desserts.  This is costs you TWO ADULT meal credits.  It can easily feed our family of five, and it helps us use our credits toward the end of our stay.

  • Stop by the Main Street Bakery to use up some meal credits.  When you stop by the Main Street Bakery at the Magic Kingdom, a meal consists of a pastry {go for the cinnamon rolls!!!}, a whole piece of fruit, and a drink.  You can choose a bottle drink, which travel well.  When talking with a CM at the Main Street Bakery, she told me that people come in all the time to use up several meal credits at once.  They provide boxes for your pastries.  So, if you need to cash in say three or four meal credits, you’ll be going home with cinnamon rolls, pieces of fruit, and some drinks.  Yum!!
  • Visit your QSD location at your resort and you can take some boxes of cereal, pop tarts, fruit, bagels, cookies, bottles of drinks…..the list is endless for snack credits that travel well.  Don’t forget some Mickey shaped rice krispie treats, Goofy decorated sugar cookies at The Confectionary on Main Street USA.
  • Some resorts, like Disney’s Grand Floridian, offer an option to put your own salad together.  You could make a salad….or two, to stash in the cooler for the car ride home.  Again, grab a bottled drink, a cookie, and you’re set for a meal!

  • At the Kringla Bakeri og Cafe in Norway {located in EPCOT’s World Showcase}, there are some great options for travel friendly food.  They serve fabulous pastries, as well as assorted sandwiches that you can take home with you.  With Disney having refrigerators in so many resort rooms now, your food and drinks can stay cold until you load your car cooler with ice and check out of your resort.

These are just some possible options for using up your meal and snack credits.  You don’t want to leave Disney with credits left, when you can easily cash them in, store them at your resort, and take them home with you.  I would suggest taking some of these items back with you to your resort for a mid afternoon break to put them in the refrigerator so they’re fresh for your journey home.

Do you ever leave Disney with unused snack or meal credits?

Magically Yours,

Carrie

We used ours in Downtown Disney the last morning going by Goofy’s Candy Shop to use the rest of the snack credits and then Earl of Sandwiches for “boxed lunches” to eat later on the way home. Worked out great!

We stopped by Earl of Sandwhich and picked up a few to go and had a picnic on our way home., and used up the last of our dinning credits.

Pretty sure you can get it as a snack a la carte. But if you add a drink and piece of fruit, it’s a meal. We did the meal option and saved the fruit for later.
