Walking into the lobby of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village, you are transported to another place. You’re immersed in African inspired surroundings and as you gaze out the window, a giraffe and zebra stroll by.
Journey with me as we unveil some planning tips and tricks for Kidani Village…
As the only Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort to offer DVC Villas with Concierge service, these rooms are often the first to be booked. So, how do you get one of these elusive Concierge Villas?
Note: Concierge Villas and a few other DVC Villas are located at Kidani Village’s sister property, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House.
Book Early. As a DVC Member with Kidani Village as your “home” resort, you can book any room at the 11 month window. All other DVC members can book at the 7 month window.
If you’re not a DVC member, don’t worry, there are rooms for you to book as soon as WDW releases vacation packages for your year of travel.
Plan time to relax and explore the resort. There are many activities available at both Kidani Village and its sister property, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House.
Spend some time talking with the Cast Members – many of whom are from different countries in Africa. Talk to the animal caretakers.
At sunset, take the Wanyama Safari complete with dinner Jiko - The Cooking Place. Listen to the stories around the fire pit. Use night vision goggles for intense night time viewing of the animals. Be sure to check the activity guide during your stay.
Staying in a Standard View Room? There are multiple animal viewing areas located at Kidani Village as well as Jambo House.
Plan extra travel time to/from this resort. Since Kidani Village is a more isolated resort, it may take longer to travel to/from the parks and other resorts. You’ll find Kidani Village is well worth these few extra minutes.
As a DVC member, I highly recommend staying at Kidani Village.
