Magic Bands Resort

Rumors are swirling this week about “Direct To Room” Check-In at Walt Disney World Resort!  Imagine stepping off The Magical Express and going straight to your room, dropping off your luggage and heading out to jump into the magic!  If the rumors are true, many of us will begin to experience this enhancement in the near future!  Direct to Room check-in allows you to bypass the front desk and head STRAIGHT to your room.  Disney World has made this an optional service.  Guests will have the ability to check-in online and receive a text or email message telling you what your room number will be upon your arrival. Your Magic Band will have the information loaded on it, so you simply head to the room when you arrive at the resort!

“Direct To Room” Check-In has been in the beginning testing phases for a while now at some of the resorts.  Rumors this week suggest a role out phase would begin this month.  Nothing has been confirmed by Disney at this point, but we have some dates to share with you!

  1. I would go to the front desk if you have specific requests. We stayed at POP in November and were assigned a room in building 6 when we requested building 10 (which is closer to transport). We had to go back to the desk and be reassigned.

  2. I am looking forward to hearing more information about this. We check in at POP on Feb 24th. I am wondering if it will matter how early you arrive at the resort? Our flight lands at MCO at 10:30am so I am wondering if they would be able to gaurantee a room with our requests would be available that early? Or if you have specific requests would it be better to check in at the hotel and skip online check-in? Also if you are unfamiliar with the resort you are staying at how will you know how to get to your room?
