Polynesian details

New details have been revealed for Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows. The Polynesian Village Resort has been undergoing lots of changes over the past year, and now we have some information about what this project will bring.

The resort will now have the largest Deluxe studios at the Walt Disney World Resort, they will sleep up to 5 guests and have the option to connect to another Deluxe Studio. There will be 360 Deluxe studios, and 20 Bungalows. The bungalows will be unique on Disney property, sleeping up to 8 guests, and having a very South Pacific home like setting. The rooms will also have a bathroom separated into two areas, one with a shower and sink and the other with a sink and tub/shower, similar to the Grand Floridian DVC rooms, and the Disney Cruise Line ships. For your convenience the rooms will be equipped with kitchenettes that offer storage. These wonderful studios and bungalows will be available to rent even for non Vacation Club members, but the bungalows will have a very limited availability.

All of these amazing additions are part of a project for an overall renovation of this gorgeous iconic hotel. The Great Ceremonial House that welcomes visitors to the splendor of the South Pacific is being Re-imagined for a more exotic feel. Once complete, the resort will also include new food and beverage offerings, like the Pineapple Lanai and Captain Cooks which opened earlier this year. Pineapple Lanai is an outdoor counter serving delicious Dole Whips and floats that even has adorable souvenir bowls and cups available.  A new Trader Sam’s Tiki Lounge will also set the stage with Polynesian-themed small plates, and alluring cocktails.

The first phase of the Polynesian Rooms and Bungalows is scheduled to open in 2015. As a frequent visitor of this resort, I for one can’t wait!
