Character Training

If character spotting is your thing and you’re visiting Epcot during the Festival of the Arts then you’ll want to keep an eye out between the UK and Canada Pavilions in the World Showcase to see what magical Disney friends might show up!

This spot is a prime location for new characters  to try out their roles before showcasing them at various points across the different theme parks.  There’s no select time for these chance encounters though they tend to be more prolific during peak periods like festivals.  Your best bet to catch a character or two is usually just after lunch but they have been spotted throughout the day.  Check out the characters that came out to say hello this morning:

Joining Meeko was Jungle VIP King Louie.

Also from the Jungle Book, Baloo was making the rounds.

Mickey Mouse even turned up this morning to check out the Festival of the Arts crowds!

Though guests stumbling upon character spots are more than likely to encounter characters that are already in circulation across the parks (like Baloo and King Louie), visitors have reported some delightful surprises like Perla from Cinderella, Megara from Hercules and Goofy’s son Max Goof.

Though the character popup is not guaranteed on any given day, if you happen to be in the World Showcase during the Festival of the Arts, definitely have your cameras at the ready when passing between the UK and Canada pavilions and linger a bit.  You never know who just might come out to say “Hello!”

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts will run until February 19th. Readers are encouraged to keep following along with Chip and Co. for live and up-to-date coverage on this year’s Fest.
