Early Morning Dining at Walt Disney World Resort

Early Morning Dining at Walt Disney World Resort

Early morning dining at Walt Disney World can be a great experience! Not only will you get a head start on your Disney day by eating early, but depending on which restaurant you choose, you might even get to experience the parks almost completely empty. Imagine getting a photo of Cinderella Castle before the park opens!

If you’re relying on Disney transportation for your vacation, early morning dining might seem to pose a problem. Disney buses begin running one hour prior to park opening, but you need to be at your ADR before that. Don’t worry! Disney has a simple solution for you. The night before your reservation, just let the concierge at your resort know that you have an early morning ADR and will be needing bus transportation. They will arrange for a Disney bus to pick you up on the morning of your reservation. In order to take advantage of the empty parks and get some great pictures, you may want to add on an additional 30 minutes to your travel time.

Now that you know how to get to your early morning dining experience, what restaurants can you schedule an early morning ADR at in order to find some great views of the empty parks? Here are a few of the best restaurant options for delicious food and fabulous photos:

  • The Crystal Palace – At this Victorian greenhouse inspired restaurant, you can dine with Winnie the Pooh and friends. The food here includes a breakfast buffet with stuffed French toast, omelets, pastries, and much more. An early meal will also allow you to snap beautiful pictures of empty Main Street, U.S.A. with Cinderella Castle at the end.
  • Cinderella’s Royal Table - You can enjoy breakfast with the Disney princesses inside Cinderella Castle. The cuisine featured here includes American dishes such as steak and eggs, stuffed French toast, baked quiche, and more. Like The Crystal Palace, an early ADR at Cinderella’s Royal Table will allow you to take fabulous photos of the Magic Kingdom.
  • Hollywood & Vine - At this breakfast buffet, your little ones will love meeting their favorite Disney Junior stars during this musical meal. Guests at Hollywood & Vine will enjoy a breakfast buffet including Mickey waffles, frittatas, fresh fruit, and more. Early in the morning, you will also be able to get some great shots of a nearly empty Hollywood Studios.
  • Tusker House Restaurant - This Animal Kingdom restaurant is often said to be one of the best character dining experiences at Walt Disney World. With an early breakfast at Tusker House, you will join Donald and friends for a Dining Safari filled with American foods, as well as, foods with an African influence.
  • Akershus Royal Banquet Hall - At the Norway pavilion in Epcot, your little princess can dine with some of her favorite Disney princesses inside a medieval castle. American cuisine is served at Akershus for breakfast. With an early ADR here, you will be able to take great pictures of Epcot, including World Showcase which more than likely won’t open until a few hours later.

Baby its Hot Outside! Here’s how to keep cool at Disney

Baby its Hot Outside! Heres how to keep cool at Disney

We have all said it or at least heard it a few times while visiting WDW… “I’m hot” “its soooo hot” “I think I’m melting” you get the picture Baby its Hot Outside! Heres how to keep cool at Disney

Let’s face it, that Florida heat can be brutal and staying cool can be trying! So since we visit allot in the summer here are few tips that we use to try and keep cool…

Drinking water - seems easy enough but we learned the hard way that it is a must!! My mom on one summer Disney trip said “I just didn’t feel thirsty” but then she started feeling lightheaded and well one thing lead to another and Disney security/medical help descended on us ninja style and I apologize to anyone in the Its Tough To Be A Bug Que in August 2006 Baby its Hot Outside! Heres how to keep cool at Disney So “Drink Up Ye Hardees” Mostly water and Power-aid/Gatorade but any nice iced cold drink will help in the summer heat!

*Any Counter Service will give you a Free cup of ice water, just ask!

Misting Fans! We have had our Disney Misting Fans for years and take them every trip! Disney sells them at every turn but you can also get them at home(and cheaper) to bring along! Just a little burst of air in your face or a light cold mist can help on a scorching day!

Neck Coolies! Well that’s what we call them, but they have many kinds out there all with different names. But the idea is they are bandanna’s filled with cooling crystals, you wet the bandanna and wear it around your neck to cool off! And yes they really do work! Check your local Wal-Mart or Sporting Goods Store or jump online and search Ice Bandannas, Neck Coolers, Frog Togs etc…

Don’t Let The Weather “Rain On Your Parade” at Disney World

Dont Let The Weather Rain On Your Parade at Disney World

The ugly truth is that there are some things that can ruin even a vacation to the happiest place on earth – Walt Disney World. One of those potential hazards is the weather, specifically RAIN – but luckily, there are ways to prevent the rain from messing up your day. Especially when Tropical Storm Andrea is out in the Gulf.

Fist things first – Pack For The Weather – That means coming prepared for rain by bringing ponchos for everyone, extra socks, assorted sized ziploc baggies and grocery bags – which come in handy for keeping cell phones/cameras/wallets etc dry and protected from the elements. Make sure you bring all of this with you to the Parks and you’ll be sure to stay (mostly!) dry

Next, make sure you Check The Weather Report a few days before you leave home, and pack based on that, but always remember that the Orlando weather can change in the blink of an eye, so even if it says “sunny and 85 degrees” forecasted for all your vacation days, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still be bringing those ponchos or a hoodie in case it gets cool.

Oh, and you might be wondering, when does it rain the most in Orlando? Well, the rainiest months are June-September, and the rain tends to happen in the hot muggy afternoons. Usually it passes quickly, but some days it may stick around. My personal rule of thumb is to assume it will rain while I am at Walt Disney World, and make sure I am fully prepared

When the rain hits, take refuge in one of these indoor rides/attractions:

Disneyland Tips and Tricks – Food Savings

Disneyland Tips and Tricks Food Savings

Here’s another tip to help save a few pennies. Disneyland offers picnic areas. When booking your hotel look for, or have your travel agent look for, one with a kitchenette in it. This way you can have your cold cereal for breakfast, pack a nice picnic lunch for the park and then splurge on your dinner. Perhaps visiting a nicer restaurant like Blue Bayou or the like.

Here’s some rules pertaining to your Food Savings in the Park:

Savings Tip for Disneyland – Good Neighbor Hotel

Savings Tip for Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel

So you want to go to Disneyland but aren’t sure where to start or how to pay for it? Luckily we are here to help you with the best ways to Plan and Pay for Disneyland!

Let’s start at the beginning. Obviously, we need to plan before we can actually head to Disneyland, right? Let’s start with the biggest piece, where to stay, and how to stay at a clean comfortable but inexpensive hotel. Disneyland is fortunately surrounded by a plethora of “Good Neighbor Hotels”. These hotels range from 1 Star to 5 Star. In addition to the wide range of hotel choices, there are a number of studio, 1 bedroom and larger suites available at many of the hotels.

My favorite Good Neighbor Hotel recommendation for a basic, clean, comfortable hotel is the Howard Johnson Hotel. At approximately 3000 feet from Disneyland, it’s one of the closest. However, having personally grown up in the Midwest I had many memories of the “HoJo” from my childhood. Thank goodness those days are gone for this Anaheim hotel. It’s a great value resort for the family looking for a budget friendly hotel with a great water park too. Kid’s and Adult’s will love the close distance to Disneyland, the hotel’s water park and having a clean and comfortable room to return to at night.
