Disney Confidential – All WDW Value Resorts will now have a Fridge

Making the rounds on the internet this morning is something that should have happened years ago! For the life of my I don’t know why Disney has not installed refrigerators in all the value resorts already.
According to many websites and even a post from Chump Chip on the Chip and Co Facebook page, Disney will be installing Fridges in all the Value resorts to be completed by the end of April 2012.
According to Mouseplanet Disney has filed a permit for carpentry work related to refrigerator installations in all guest rooms at the Pop Century Resort. This is welcome news for all those who stay at the Value resort.
But what I have heard from Allears is that Disney World Value resorts will ALL have free refrigerators in the rooms by the end of April 2012.
So great news for anyone renting a fridge. Now everyone can load up at places like Garden Grocer!
Don’t forget to take advantage of the Free Dining Special that is going on right now.

Disney Confidential – Magic Kingdom Monorail Loop Closing

I have some interesting news/gossip from one of my favorite sites WDWMagic. Before you gather up your pitchforks and torches keep in mind this is not official YET!
According to their website the Magic Kingdom Monorail Loop with be closing down from 11am till around 6pm in the month of March. The reason for the closure is due to the construction going on at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, You might remember me mentioning a few months ago about them adding on a DVC resort to the Grand Flo. So with all the construction they are needing to bring in a crane that would interfere with the Monorail line.
If you are heading to Disney World in the month of March you might want to use some of the alternative forms of transportation to get to the Magic Kingdom. Chump Chip does a good job trying to keep people informed of the various Closures and Refurbishements in his monthly series here. I know big surprise right? Mark your calendar as that is the only nice thing I will say about him this year 
In all seriousness I would rather take the Dumbo Ferry to the Magic Kingdom instead of the monorail. There is just something about the view you get when you see the castle getting bigger and bigger, not to mention you’re not wedged in a small area with 30 other smelly people and that one crying baby.

Disney Hollywood Studios gets Fireworks and Obama visits Magic Kingdom

Disney World is a buzz this morning with reports that President Obama is stopping by the Magic Kingdom. According to WESH he will be in the Orlando area to talk about the failed prosperous economy.
So what makes you think he will stop by the Magic Kingdom you might ask?
Well according to Inside the Magic Disney’s Hollywood Studios will feature a new fireworks show called “Rock the Night” on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at 7 p.m., just as regular park hours end and Extra Magic Hours begin.
Why would Disney do that you might ask?
Well to make room for Obama and his entourage to ride Space Mountain of course.
I will keep my personal feelings out of this article and just say its gonna be an interesting week at Disney World. Especially with Chip coming down this coming weekend. So everyone throw rotten eggs say hi to Chip if you see him!

Disney Confidential – Peter Pan’s Flight Getting New Intereactive Queue

Today’s Gossip comes to us from the Cast Members Mouth. Word is being spread that Peter Pan’s Flight in the Magic Kingdom is scheduled to get an Interactive Queue (Like The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh). So while you are waiting in these really long lines for a mediocre ride you will have something to stare at instead of the wild child waiting in line in front of you.
Construction is expected to start January 16th and end by March 6th, 2012. Disney is not expecting any closures during the construction and I imagine getting around in Fantasyland is going to start getting worse as the closure of Dumbo the Flying Elephant has occurred and Disney gets ready to open the new area.
Personally I think this ride is in need of an overhaul. But I know many of you Disney World purists will probably defend it till your dying day. Don’t get me wrong I love Peter Pan and I am an even bigger fan of Jake & the Neverland Pirates, but I don’t understand waiting in line for hours for a quick 2 minute ride.
If you need me I will be across the street riding It’s a Small World over and over again!

Disney Confidential – XPass is coming sooner than you think

Today’s Disney Gossip is something we have talked about before here on Chip and Co. While I am not a fan because going to Walt Disney World is something we have to save up for and can only manage to get to our home away from home once a year, those with deep pockets are going to like the news.
It seems Disney is getting ready to roll out XPass in 2012. What is XPass you might ask?
For a hefty ransom Disney will offer WDW Guests the opportunity to pre-book an entire vacation’s worth of rides on the Resort’s most popular attractions as well as guaranteeing these high-end customers a primo reserved viewing spot for theme park parades and/or nighttime extravaganzas like “Illuminations” and “Fantasmic!”
So depending on how deep your pockets are and how much of a Chip Planning Nerd you are, you could plan out your whole vacation from behind your computer screen before you even step foot in the parks. If I only knew someone who did that now….
If you want to read more about this head over to Jim Hill Media. Now I am not 100% certain this is a real article as JHM likes to pull peoples legs. Although we have been known to share information about upcoming things at Walt Disney World. For example the Fast Pass for Fast Pass.
