Do we have any fans of Disney-Pixar’s movie, Brave? Merida, the star of the film, will become the 11th Disney princess on May 11, 2013! Merida will be the first princess from a Pixar film. There will be a ceremony held at 9:30 am on May 11, 2013 at Cinderella Castle in Disney’s Magic Kingdom park at the Walt Disney World Resort. This will also be the first time that park guests have been invited to watch the official ceremony live.
Merida will receive an artistic makeover to match the new Disney Princess look featured on Disney’s merchandise. Merida will join the current Disney Princesses Snow White, Mulan, Aurora, Belle, Tiana, Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Rapunzel, who all plan to attend this special event!
Who’s ready for an update on the remaining construction in the New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom Park?
Walt Disney Imagineering just shared a new video with us that offers up a look inside the two attractions in New Fantasyland that are still yet to debut: Princess Fairytale Hall and “Princess Fairytale Hall at New Fantasyland”
Princess Fairytale Hall, which will open later this year, will be the ultimate destination in which to greet Disney royalty. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, a family coaster that is set to open in 2014, will take Magic Kingdom Park guests on a musical journey through the mine “where a million diamonds shine.” The attraction will offer an innovative ride system with a train of vehicles that respond to every twist and turn, plus appearances by animated figures from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” and music from this classic Disney film.
When you ask your little one what they want to see the most on their upcoming trip, they will most likely say one of the newest and most popular things currently in the park!
This is one thing that you must plan ahead for, unless of course you don’t mind spending 3 hours in line to see Merida! Kids like what is popular, so you should expect that hundreds of other parents are going to be trying to get their little ones that coveted picture too!
Here are some tips to help you avoid hours in line for one character/ride/show!
Disneyland Innoventions is one of your favorite places to visit, right? Okay, maybe it’s not your first stop. Last? Ever? As a self-proclaimed Disney Geek, I know that Innoventions isn’t always on my list. All that has changed though. I bet you will get there right after rope drop now.
Disneyland Park Features ‘Iron Man’ Tech, Presented by Stark Industries. How cool is that? Do you want to check out Tony Stark’s Iron Man Hall of Armor? It’s here.
How about putting on your own Iron Man suit? Would that be appealing too? That’s right, head on into Innoventions and you can. Just remember to start at 1% Power, we don’t want anyone flying into the concrete walls.
Disney can say with assurance that everyday’s a Party for the Planet at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as guests and cast members join together to celebrate the wonders of nature. But on April 22 (Earth Day), in recognition of the park’s 15th anniversary, there will be even more natural magic.
Here are some tips for all of you who are able to come:
- Get there by 8:30 a.m.! While the park and its attractions don’t open until 9 a.m., the turnstiles will open at 8:30 a.m., and I am proud to be joining Disney’s Animal Kingdom Vice President Josh D’Amaro who is hosting a special 15th anniversary ceremony that will take place in front of the Tree of Life at 8:40 a.m.
- Commemorative guide map: Be sure to pick one up when you enter the park. And while in the Main Entrance area, also pick up a keepsake postcard that serves as a Party for the Planet guide.
