Chip & Company Week in Review, February 20, 2012
Welcome to this week’s edition of the Chip & Company Week in Review. There have been a lot of stories to read about, so here are the stories that caught our eye last week:
- Continuing a Spring Training tradition, the Atlanta Braves will be making the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex their home for the 15th consecutive year, where they will host 18 games from March 3 – April 2nd.
- The Disneyland Refurbishment schedule has been released for March, 2012. Check it out if you’ll be at the park.
- Since the Disneyland Refurbishment schedule was released, so was the Disney World refurbishment schedule for March, 2012 released.
- D23 is getting ready to celebrate their 3rd birthday! To celebrate, they are having a special Twitter contest to give away some cool prizes. The contest started February 17th, and continues until March 10th! Good luck!
- A new Disney Junior toy line was unveiled at the 2012 American International Toy Fair. Check it out to see the new toys!
- If you have little ones, you may want to take a look at these special temporary tattoos for keeping your children safe. Read the article to learn more about SafetyTat, the company behind the idea.
- As most everyone knows, Whitney Houston passed away recently at the young age of 48. RIP Whitney Houston, we remember your legacy with Disney movies.
- With the great changes going on in Fantasyland at Walt Disney World, it’s easy for us on the east coast to forget that there are a lot of changes going on at Disney’s California Adventure. Check out the eight lands that you’ll be able to explore this summer!
- If you love Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World, you’ll need to make sure that you tell all of our California friends about the Earl of Sandwich that is coming to Downtown Disney at Disneyland in the summer of 2012!
- Lastly, for all of you Disney Universe fans out there, you’ll appreciate knowing that there is all new Phineas and Ferb content available for download!

Chip & Company Week in Review, February 13, 2012
Welcome to this week’s edition of the Chip & Company Week in Review. There have been a lot of stories to read about, so here are the stories that caught our eye last week:
- In a bit of Disney History, the reports are that Walt Disney is close to acquiring the script for “Saving Mr. Banks.” This story tells how Walt Disney finally was able to acquire the script from P.L. Travers for the making of Mary Poppins.
- Starting this Wednesday, February 15th, the Magic Kingdom is introducing some new kids menu items.
- Look out everyone, Perry the Platypus from Phineas and Ferb is kicking off Platypus Day this coming March 3rd!
- Chip brings us a very special First Look: Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph!
- The John Carter: Journey to Aulani Sweepstakes is under way. Make sure you enter to win a trip to Disney’s newest Vacation Club resort!
- Special thanks to Disneyland Resort for their $5 million dollar donation to CHOC Children’s hospital. That donation was one of many that helped raise over $100 million dollars for the hospital project!
- Sadly, Patricia Disney, the former wife of Roy E. Disney (the nephew of Walt Disney) passed away recently from Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 77 years old. Our condolences go out to the Disney family in their time of sorrow.
- Chip and Company is proud to announce our new partnership with the folks over at the Garden Grocer, Florida’s #1 professional grocery delivery service!
- Disney Baby has expanded their product line to include nursery, apparel, mealtime, and bathtime products.

- As we discussed a couple of weeks ago, the itineraries for the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder for 2013 have now been released!

- Disney recently announced that their cast members will now be able to grow beards, whereas before this was not allowed. What do you think of this change?
- A new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse video is being released! Look for “I ❤ Minnie” on February 7th!
- Jane By Design, volume 1, is coming to DVD on March 20th, to mark your calendars!
- Aljon recently did a review of “Timmy Time: Timmy Needs a Bath.” According to Aljon, it’s good clean fun for the Kids!
- The Muppets will be coming to DVD and BluRay on March 20th, 2012! I’ll be marking my calendar for that release date!
- Mel shares with us information on how to charge to your “Key to the World” card.
- Will you be boarding your dogs at Best Friends Pet Care between now and February 4th? If so, your friends will be in for an ice cream and cookie treat!

Chip & Company Week in Review, January 16, 2012
Welcome back once again to this week’s edition of the Chip & Company Week in Review. I hope that all of you have had a great start to the new year! Here are the stories that caught our eye last week:
- Have you heard about the new TV series coming called “Star Wars: Underworld?” Aljon has more information about this new show.
- Adventures by Disney is one of my bucket list items, and while I can’t utilize this yet, you might be able to. Adventures by Disney is having a sale, with a complimentary additional night.
- If you were ever wondering what all the snacks were that were available at the Magic Kingdom, we’ve got it right here for you with prices!
- Mel brings us word that Disney is producing a movie called “Into the Woods” with Rob Marshall slated to direct the work. I’d never heard of it before, but it will reportedly include such characters as Rapunzel, Cinderella, and Little Red Riding Hood, so I’m game to see it!
