As Hollywood’s biggest stars hit the red carpet, Club Penguin players are invited to star in the all-new Hollywood Party, which will transform the Island into the entertainment capital of the world. With three different movie sets, all players can start their claim to fame by becoming movie directors and members can work their way towards becoming film superstars. In typical Hollywood fashion, at the end of the event there will be a star-studded awards show where penguins can waddle the red carpet and members will have the chance to win highly coveted Club Penguin awards.

Club Penguin Hollywood Party activities will include:

  • Directors and Superstars: Penguins can aim for fame by directing movies and taking snapshots of superstars to earn points and items as directors. Members can see their names in lights and perform their way to epic stardom by acting in musicals and sci-fi and action movies, earning exclusive rewards along the way.
  • Hollywood Fashion: The new Hollywood party catalog has award-winning outfits like a diamond gown, a space astro suit and a rugged jacket.
  • Penguin Celebrity Appearances: DJ Cadence will stop by the Island to choreograph the musical production numbers, while martial arts expert, Sensei, brings his talents to assist members in their action movie performances. Lucky penguins might also have the chance to work on film special effects with sci-fi fan, Gary the Gadget Guy and attend a meet & greet with Aunt Arctic.
  • Movie Studio Igloos: Members can transform their igloos into blockbuster Hollywood studios with movie-inspired furniture and decorations.
  • Glitzy Red Carpet Event: At this black tie affair, directors, photographers and fans will rub shoulders with Club Penguin’s hottest stars.
  • Star-Studded Award Shows: With three award shows, directors and superstars can attend the hottest events of the season. Lucky members that obtain the elusive superstar status can win special Club Penguin statuettes.

Tina Fey poses with Snow White at Walt Disney World

Tina Fey poses with Snow White at Walt Disney World

“Tina Fey, your award-winning series ’30 Rock’ has just ended its successful seven-season run on television. What are you going to do next?”

The response from the multi-talented writer, producer, actress, author, show creator and comedienne easily could have been “I’m going to Disney World!” — because that’s exactly what she did. After production recently ended on her acclaimed comedy series, Fey enjoyed a visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Her next film, “Admission,” is a comedy/drama co-starring actor Paul Rudd and is scheduled to debut in theaters next month.

Disney Parks Blog author Gene Duncan was on hand today at Epcot to capture this photo of Tina posing with “the fairest of them all,” Snow White, at the Germany Pavilion in World Showcase.

Buzz About Harrison Ford’s Possible Return as Star Wars’ Han Solo

Buzz About Harrison Fords Possible Return as Star Wars Han Solo

The internet is buzzing about the reports of Harrison Ford reprising his role as galactic smuggler turned good-guy, Han Solo for another trip back to a galaxy far, far away.

A video report from Fox News Latino surfaced today with an interview with Latino-Review.com’s El Mayimbe with word that Ford will indeed play Han Solo in an upcoming Star Wars film. Ford has stated in recent weeks that he is open to the possibility of playing Han again for a future Star Wars movie.

This story has NOT been confirmed by Lucasfilm/Disney but Latino-Report has been able to get scoops that have turned out to be true regarding recent Marvel films so it could be a definite possibility. Of course this could be a set up for a possible Han Solo “solo” adventure film rumored to be in development as well. Could we see Ford opening the film telling tales about his younger self? Could we see Solo in a cameo for Episode VII? Only time will tell.

Check out the interview video for yourself.

Actor James Franco Named Grand Marshal for 55th Annual Daytona 500

Actor James Franco Named Grand Marshal for 55th Annual Daytona 500

James Franco, star of the Disney fantastical adventure Oz The Great and Powerful,” which is scheduled for release on March 8, will serve as Grand Marshal for the 55th running of the Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, Feb. 24 at Daytona International Speedway.  The race is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on FOX and will also be broadcasted on FOX Deportes, MRN Radio and Sirius XM Satellite Radio.

Franco will give the starting command, “Drivers start your engines,” in “The Great American Race.” He’ll also be introduced at the driver’s meeting, participate in pre-race ceremonies and ride in one of the Grand Marshal cars during the pace laps prior to the green flag of the 200-lap, 500-mile race.

“We’re excited to welcome James Franco and have him take part in the pre-race festivities for the Daytona 500,” Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III said. “In front of thousands of race fans and millions more watching on FOX, we’re looking forward to hearing James’ enthusiastic starting command to kick off the Daytona 500 and the new NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.”

“Oz The Great and Powerful,” directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved wizard character. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting.

Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well.

Joe Roth produced “Oz The Great and Powerful,” with screen story by Mitchell Kapner and screenplay by Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire.

Franco will next be seen in Harmony Korine’s “Spring Breakers.”  His credits include “127 Hours,” in which he received a Best Actor Oscar® nomination, “ the “Spider-Man” trilogy, “Milk,” “Pineapple Express” and most recently “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.”

Franco joins the prestigious list of previous Daytona 500 Grand Marshals including John Travolta, Ben Affleck, Nicolas Cage, Kate Upton, Jane Lynch and Matthew McConaughey.
