Suit Up Now with the Disney Universe Downloadable Demo
Disney Interactive Studios today announced that a free demo of Disney Universe, the first video game that brings together characters and worlds inspired by both animated and live-action films from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures, is now available as a free download on Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network and PlayStation® Network.
Disney Universe offers a four-person multiplayer action experience, with frenzied gameplay that appeals to players of all ages. The game features 45 classic and contemporary iconic character costumes inspired by well-known and legendary properties, such as the Disney•Pixar hits WALL•E and Monsters, Inc., Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Academy Award® winning classics, The Lion King and Aladdin.
The downloadable demo features swashbuckling adventures with the first level of the game’s Pirates of the Caribbean world and includes costumes inspired by Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc., Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean and one of Disney’s most beloved characters of all time, Mickey Mouse.
In addition to the downloadable demo of the game, consumers who are interested in getting a first-hand look at Disney Universe can also visit a participating Best Buy store beginning December 12. Select store locations will have an Xbox 360®video game and entertainment system available for consumers to play the demo of the game.
Disney Universe is now available for the Xbox 360®video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, the Wii™ system from Nintendo and Windows PC.

Engage in Goofy’s Gift Exchange on Facebook
Today Disney announced an early holiday treat for Facebook users – it’s Goofy’s Gift Exchange, a truly one-of-a-kind holiday game inspired by their parks and characters.
The game, accessible at www.GoofysGiftExchange.com, allows you to become a Disney character, add holiday decorations to your virtual door and exchange Disney Parks-themed gifts (such as Thunder Mountain train sets and Tinker Bell’s wands) with your fellow Facebook friends.
Users can also find special codes on the Disneyland Holidays Facebook Page that unlock additional decorations. Our Facebook team has been nice enough to give the Disney Parks Blog one of these codes that we can share exclusively with our readers. Last month we expanded our Pre-Launch Guild Program with the implementation of Phase 2: Alignment, where guilds could designate other guilds as allies or adversaries. Now, as Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ moves ever-closer to launch, we are excited to announce that we have initiated the first part of Phase 3: Deployment!
Phase 3: Deployment will see any guild that meets the pre-designated criteria be transferred into the game for launch. Before we begin this process, though, we want to give all of you who are in guilds the opportunity to make sure your guild meets the following requirement for transfer:
Four members of the guild must have pre-ordered the game and redeemed their Pre-Order Code at the Code Redemption Center.
(NOTE: We have removed the additional requirement for the guild leader to log in to the website and verify that their guild remains active and wants to be imported.)

Cars 2: The Video Game Drives into the next dimension on the Nintendo 3DS
Disney Interactive Studios today announced that Disney•Pixar’s Cars 2: The Video Gameis now available for the Nintendo 3DS™ handheld system. Following the multi-platform release of the critically acclaimed console versions earlier this year, the game joins the latest line of offerings in the beloved franchise. From a spy-driven plotline to international locales and intense racing adventures, the game allows fans to play as their favorite characters including Lightning McQueen, Mater the tow truck, Finn McMissile and others, as they navigate through adventures within C.H.R.O.M.E. (Command Headquarters for Recon Operations and Motorized Espionage).
“This latest video game in the Cars franchise will be a real treat for fans and gamers,” said Javier Ferreira, Senior Vice President of Publishing, Disney Interactive Media Group. “Bringing the world of Cars to the Nintendo 3DS for the first time will deliver a heightened feeling of space and depth just in time for the holidays.”
Cars 2: The Video Game for Nintendo 3DS will offer the very best in eye-popping gameplay through the system’s stereoscopic 3D display. The game will take advantage of StreetPass™ communication, allowing players to unlock and share new skins. Multiplayer action with up to four players will also be available.
Development for Cars 2: The Video Game was led by Avalanche Software in collaboration with the filmmakers at Pixar Animation Studios. The game features full 3D support for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and is also currently available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Wii™, Nintendo DS™, Nintendo 3DS and Windows PC/MAC. The console versions are all rated E 10+, while the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS versions are rated E for Everyone by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).
