Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo 2012 – Disney, Marvel and Star Wars Cosplayers… Oh My
The third annual Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) takes place this weekend covering the latest and greatest from the worlds of comics, movies, television, toys, anime, manga and video games. Disney, Marvel and Star Wars cosplayers were very popular during day one’s festivities. Take a look!

Disney releases “Avengers Origins: Hulk” and “Avengers Origins: Assemble!” for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch
Disney Publishing Worldwide announced today that two more storybook app titles based on the original Marvel Origins series will join “The Amazing Spider-Man: An Origin Story” app, which launched last month. The new titles, both narrated by comic book legend Stan Lee, include “Avengers Origins: Hulk” and “Avengers Origins: Assemble!” which will be available for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch in February 2012.
The “Avengers Origins: Hulk” action-packed app tells the story of how Dr. Bruce Banner becomes the Hulk and the pursuit of the U.S. armed forces against Banner/Hulk. Through thrilling tap-and-play animation and interactive games, readers are able to experience Banner’s transformation first-hand. The “Avengers Origins: Assemble!” app brings to life the team of Super Heroes we’ve all come to know and love with Iron Man, Ant-Man, Wasp, Thor, and Captain America. In both apps, Lee lends his iconic voice in “Read to Me” mode, which is one of four reading modes that cater to a variety of reading levels. The two new interactive storybook apps narrated by comic book legend Stan Lee join “The Amazing Spider-Man: An Origin Story” app, which was rated one of the “10 Favorite Apps of 2011” by Entertainment Weekly.
“Avengers Origins: Hulk” and “Avengers Origins: Assemble!” will launch in February 2012 in the App Store on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore.

Peter Parker and Miles Morales Will Meet in the Crossover ‘Spider-Men’
Now this is something I’m very excited about! Marvel has officially confirmed and announced today that Peter Parker, of the original Marvel universe, and Miles Morales, our new Ultimate Spider-Man, will be meeting in a five part crossover event, ‘Spider-Men’, that starts this June. It’ll be the first time the original Marvel universe will crossover into the Ultimate universe, and I’m very interested to see how this plays out. Brian Michael Bendis has been one of my favorite comic writers for quite some time, and his Ultimate Spider-Man series is one of the best comic series I’ve ever read. Him doing an event of this magnitude has me very excited. June can’t get here soon enough. Spider-Man Meets Spider-Man In Landmark SPIDER-MEN
Peter Parker and Miles Morales Meet For The First Time in June

X-Men), which brings Peter Parker and Miles Morales together for the first time. That’s right, the Spider-Man from two different realities—the Marvel Universe and Ultimate Comics Universe—bring their worlds together for a battle no one web-head could win!

Each issue of Spider-Men features variants covers by some of the biggest names in comics including Humberto Ramos (Amazing Spider-Man), Mike Deodato (New Avengers), Marcos Martin (Amazing Spider-Man), Terry Dodson (Avenging Spider-Man), Travis Charest (Captain America) and Sara Pichelli.
“Knowing how much Brian loves and respects Spider-Man, there’s no way I wouldn’t want to work on Spider-Men with him,” said Sara Pichelli. “It’s going to be an explosive celebration of Spider-Man’s 50th anniversary—are you ready?”
In 1962’s Amazing Fantasy #15, the world first met Peter Parker and saw him become the hero Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe. Soon after, Spider-Man became a pop culture sensation, launching multiple television series, blockbuster films and some of the most popular comics of all time. Then in 2011, Marvel introduced Miles Morales, a new character of African American and Hispanic descent, who became Spider-Man in the Ultimate Comics Universe after that world’s Peter Parker perished.
“This is one of the biggest stories in Marvel history,” said Axel Alonso, Editor in Chief, Marvel Entertainment. “Peter Parker and Miles Morales are two of our most popular characters and fans have been clamoring for them to meet—we’ve got quite a few surprises in store for both characters.
