Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction Finally opens but not for long…

Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction Finally opens but not for long...

Every single day, on the shore of Echo Lake inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can see Gertie in all her 1930′s “California Crazy” architectural goodness. She loves to pose for pictures and is very photogenic.

Unfortunately, she is only open seasonally for the business of selling ice cream and treats. Catching her on one of these days can be tricky. Today, however, we got lucky and stumbled on some May 2013 dates and hours of operation for Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction!

The following information is subject to change but comes from an extremely reliable “anonymouse” source:

Take Some Time To Un”Wine”d At WDW

Take Some Time To UnWined At WDW

Fear not wine conissouers – Walt Disney World has NOT forgotten about you! It may be a Theme Park with ample child and family friendly activities and restaurants, but there is plenty for us adults to enjoy too!

So if you find that you’re in the mood for a glass or two of vino after a long day of touring the Parks, then I suggest you head to these spots:

Magic Kingdom – Up until just recently, the Magic Kingdom was a “dry” park that didn’t serve any alcohol at all, but with the addition of the Be Our Guest restaurant at the New Fantasyland came a french inspired menu that included cornish game hen, pork chops, and ratatouillie. Along with that menu came a drink menu that includes some truly delicious red and white wines, as well as some classic French beers.

There are some great drink options on the menu, and since it’s a new (popular!) restaurant, you will definitely want to make an ADR to wine and dine here!

Is Downtown Disney a Disney Must Do?

Is Downtown Disney a Disney Must Do?

So many people seem to think that Downtown Disney is only shopping and true, there is allot of shopping to be had here, but there is so much more! From movies and bowling to food and entertainment!

Food for one is a big part, we seem to always schedule a trip to DTD by where we want to eat…If you are just here to shop till you drop and want to grab a quick snack then you could choose from Pretzels and Fried Candy Bars at Wetzel’s Pretzels and Cookes of Dublin or how about candy and sweets galore then stop at Goofys Candy Company, the Candy Cauldron or Ghiradelli Soda Fountain, they should do the trick.

New Ice Cream Shop, L’Artisan des Glaces, Coming to Epcot

Hi everybody! It’s been a couple weeks since you’ve heard from me, Anonymouse, but not to worry, I’ve been trying to keep up with all the latest Disney Gossip to share with you! Here is the latest Disney rumor that I have heard and wanted to share it with all my friends at Chip and Co. first! As you all know by now, Chip does not go to Disney to eat salad, so he will love this gossip!

Epcot is supposed to be getting a new ice cream shop! L’Artisan des Glaces, an ice cream parlor, will be coming to the France Pavilion in Epcot. This new spot should be open for business by the middle of June this year! This “artisan ice cream and sorbet shop” is expected to offer sixteen different flavors of creamy, chilly goodness. Plus, each and every flavor will be made in-house with fresh ingredients!

Animal Kingdom Snack Attack: Where To Head When Hunger Hits

Animal Kingdom Snack Attack: Where To Head When Hunger Hits

I don’t know about you, but I like to hit Disney’s Animal Kingdom as soon as it opens in the morning. I grab a quick bagel and coffee at the Kusafari Coffee Shop and Bakery and head for my favorite rides like Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids

By about 11 am, I am usually done with my “must-do” rides, and am ready for a late morning snack. Where do I head? Well, I check out these Top 5 Animal Kingdom Snack Spots:

Yak and Yeti – This counter service location in Animal Kingdom’s Asia offers some truly unique meal options, and their snacks are special too! Grab an egg roll, or a basket of fries, or some banana pudding or chocolate mousse to satisfy your sweet tooth. Beer (Bud Light and Safari Amber) as well as assorted soft drinks are available here as well

Kusafari Coffee Shop and Bakery – Over in Africa you will find this “sweet spot” that offers breakfast items as well as some delicious fresh baked goods like srownies, white chocolate elephant cupcakes (link), cookies, coffee beverages, and bottled drinks too

Campfire TreatsCamp Mickey/Minnie is a great place for the kids, and it’s a great place to grab a snack too! This kiosk offers funnel cakes, as well as soft serve cones and dishes, floats, worm n’dirt sundaes, and strawberry shortcake

Harambe Fruit Market – This is really more of a fruit stand, it offers apples/oranges/bananas, as well as mixed fruit cups and pineapple bites. Pick up some trail mix or a soft pretzel to boost your energy levels, and don’t forget a frozen lemonade to help beat that Florida heat!

Dino Bite Snacks – If you have worked up an appetite enjoying all that Dinoland has to offer, then head to this snack stand for a fresh hot churro, or an old fashioned hot fudge sundae, waffle cone, or ice cream cooke sandwich! You can always skip the ice cream and enjoy a cookie or chips with a soft drink or coffee too

So what’s the best snack that Animal Kingdom has to offer? Personally, I love the Brownie Paw at Kusafari – thick fudgey brownie base, covered with a chocolate ganache and then topped with a nice thick layer of vanilla buttercream frosting

But, the drinks offered at the various kiosks and carts in the Park are a close second – a brownie and a margarita may not sound like they go together, but trust me, they do.

But everyone has their favorites, so I would love to know what YOU think!
