The most popular Waffle Maker has to be the VillaWare V5555-01 6-Inch Mickey Wafflemaker. Unfortunately it is very hard to find. I saw a couple on ebay and that was about it.

Another alternative and probably more popular with your kids would be the Mickey Mouse Tasty Baker. The waffles are smaller but your choices of characters are better. You can make all your Playhouse Disney Characters at once.

Also it’s on the Disney Store so you can always catch free shipping or some other kinda special they are running!

Once you have your waffle maker then you need the simple recipe.

Recipe Ingredients

Recipe Directions

For years families have been trying to duplicate the famous Mickey Mouse waffles of Walt Disney World, but something always seems to be lacking. The hidden ingredient is Carbon’s Golden Malted Flour.

Beat eggs and water together, then add flour and mix well. Stir in melted butter and mix well again. Ladle onto waffler, and remove when golden brown.

Top with Powdered Sugar, Fruit or just Maple Syrup and you have yourself a piece of the Disney Magic.

Let us know if you try this out at home, we would love to see any pictures you may have on Facebook.

Disney World Recipe – Making a Mango Lassi from the Sanaa Restaurant

mangodrink

mangodrink 333x500 Disney World Recipe Making a Mango Lassi from the Sanaa Restaurant %tag

This sounds like a wonderful drink from the Disney Park Blog that I might try making tonight for a after dinner dessert. I think I have all the ingredients but the mango which I know are in season right now! Enjoy the article

Sometimes a sweet comes along that is beyond delicious. A backbeat of creamy yogurt with high notes of sweet mango make this an unusual and memorable end to a savory meal at Sanaa at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. (It’s on the “non-alcoholic specialties” menu, but we prefer it for dessert.)

A cross between a smoothie and a milkshake zapped with the tartness of yogurt, the vibrant drink is served in India as an aperitif or as a side with fiery cuisine. But we love it for an offbeat meal closer. Whip up a batch, then stash in the fridge (just whip it again in the blender or whisk just before sipping).

Mango Lassi is just one of the creative tastes at Sanaa (sah-NAH), where the menu showcases tastes of the islands of the Indian Ocean that are all part of Africa. And there’s a feast for the eyes, too, with a savannah with African animals just a few yards from the restaurant and tall windows for viewing. Do you have a favorite Sanaa dish?

Mango Lassi
(Chilled Mango Yogurt Drink) Serves 4
2 cups ripe mango, chopped
Pinch of salt
1 cup chilled whole milk
1 cup whole-milk plain yogurt
2 to 3 teaspoons sugar, optional

  1. If mango has stringy fibers, push through a nylon sieve with the back of a spoon. The remaining mango should not contain any stringy pulp. Refrigerate until cold.
  2. Combine mango, pinch of salt, milk and yogurt in a blender and puree until smooth. Taste and add sugar to taste. If you would like the lassi a bit colder, add about eight ice cubes to the blender. Can be refrigerated up to 24 hours.

Tonga Toast

Ingredients:

2 slices sourdough bread, cut 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick (Softer the bread the better)
1 banana
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
oil or shortening for frying
whipped butter and/or syrup

Method:

Cut a 1-inch pocket in one side of each bread slice. Cut banana in half crosswise, then split each piece lengthwise. Remove peel and stuff two pieces of fruit in each pocket of bread; set aside. Mix sugar and cinnamon; set aside. Mix together well the egg, milk and vanilla.

Heat about 4 inches of oil in a pan to 350º F. Dip stuffed bread into egg/milk mixture and let it soak a few seconds to let penetrate bread. Fry bread on both sides in hot oil until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels or wire rack. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve.

POG Juice

If you lived in Hawaii you could drive down to the corner store and pick up some POG juice, but here is the recipe I was able to find around the interwebs so you can make it at home.

Basically it is Passion Fruit Juice, Guava Pineapple, and Orange juice mixed together.

Ratios say 1/3 each but I am sure with some trial and error you could get to to your taste.

Let me know if you try them out and if they were good or not in the comment section below!
