James Arnold Taylor to Host Star Wars Weekends 2011
James Arnold Taylor, the actor who lends is voice to Obi-Wan Kenobi in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” on Cartoon Network, announced on his Facebook page that he would be returning to Star Wars Weekends this year as host!
Here’s the post:
“Okay, big announcement! I have just accepted Disney’s offer to be the Event Host for all 4 weeks of Star Wars Weekends 2011!! I will be in Florida for 4 weeks from May 20th to June 12th. I am very excited about this opportunity and can’t thank the folks at Disney enough. More to follow soon!” – James Arnold Taylor
Taylor follows up with this post:
“So to be clear Ashley (Eckstein) will still be hosting all month long as well for the Behind the Force show. I will be the host of the whole event! Plus, Disney is allowing me to perform a half hour version of my one man show as a bonus to the celebration! It will be the world premiere of it and I’m very excited about that.”
If you are unfamiliar with James’ work here are some the characters he’s voiced: Fred Flintstone, Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Johnny Test, Green Arrow (Batman The Brave and the Bold), Harry Osborn (The Spectacular Spider-Man) and Milo Thatch (Disney’s Atlantis: Milo’s Return). James also “Voice-Doubles” for many of today’s biggest names including: Johnny Depp, Ewan McGregor, Shia LaBeouf, Christopher Walken, Michael J. Fox, David Spade, Robin Williams and many others.
I’m really looking forward to seeing James this year since I wasn’t able to meet him last year. From every interview I’ve read heard he is very fan-friendly and really nice to meet in person. I’m also looking forward to hearing his one man show. I’m sure he’ll showcase his tremendous range of voices.
So if you’re keeping score at home, here are the latest celebrities attending Star Wars Weekends 2011:
- Anthony Daniels, known worldwide for his portrayal of everyone’s favorite protocol droid, C-3PO, will return this year for Weekend 1 (May 20-22) and Weekend 2 (May 27-29).
- Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano in The Clone Wars, will appear each weekend this year as Celebrity Host of a behind-the-scenes talk show entitled “Clone Wars: Behind the Force.”
Star Wars Weekends 2011 will be held at Disney’s Hollywood Studios every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from May 20-June 12.

Hasbro Reveals ‘Star Tours: The Adventures Continue’ Action Figures
This weekend at the New York Toy Fair 2011 Hasbro unveiled the new line of Star Wars action figures including the new set for Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.
According to StarWars.com, the figures will be available in two Disney-exclusive sets called the “Star Tours Ambush Pack” and the “Star Tours Travel Agency Pack,” both being released in May.
The “Ambush Pack” will contain Darth Vader on some sort of hovering platform, Boba Fett, and two skytroopers. Given the pack’s name, it’s likely that the new Starspeeder 1000 vehicles, which will transport riding guests through the Star Wars universe, will be “ambushed” at some point by these characters during the ride.
The “Travel Agency Pack” features known characters C-3PO (the ride’s new pilot), AC-38 (Ace), and Aly San San as well as two other characters being revealed for the first time. The first appears to be a luggage porter droid, holding aircraft directional wands, with luggage accessories. The other seems to be a Star Tours variation of a Utai, which has previously been released as an action figure. It’s likely these droids and characters will be seen in the queue and early stages of the attraction, before the above-mentioned ambush occurs.
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 20, 2011, the same day that Star Wars Weekends 2011 begins.
