Mom and Kids both like Doc McStuffins

Disney Junior has a few new shows that have been introduced recently. The latest addition to the line-up is “Doc McStuffins” . It is a cute show that has become a favorite.

Finding entertainment for a small child can be difficult. Sure little ones love songs, bright colors and fun characters. Parents, like me, want to make sure the cartoons they expose their children to are more than just fun though.  This cartoon fits the bill.

“Doc McStuffins” is an animated series featuring a girl that treats and heals all sorts of toys and stuffed animals. This 6-year-old is a “doctor” appealing to 2- to 7-year-olds. Some of her cases have been treating hiccups for a microphone toy, an alligator from a game with a tummy ache, a dancing toy with a broken leg and a bubble making toy that isn’t blowing bubbles.

A parent might find their child taking a break when “The Doc is In!” Parents are finding this a great choice for their children because of the medical element. Sure, this is a little girl pretending to be a doctor to her toys, but it speaks to children. Going to the doctor or hospital can be scary. “Doc McStuffins” helps her toy patients through medical situations especially geared toward their needs. She magically talks to her patients to learn what ails them. Then she treats them. The tips provided by the show also help teach about living a healthy lifestyle and eases the fear children may having about visiting the doctor. The characters, stories and songs make it fun as well as educational. Children watching probably don’t realize they are learning.

The final words about “Doc McStuffins” are I know my 3-year-old enjoys the show because he smiles during the episodes and chants for the show again when it is over! We recommend watching “Doc McStuffins” on the Disney Junior.

Thanks Charity for the article.

Disney XD has ordered Crash & Bernstein, a live-action comedy—with puppetry—about 14-year-old Wyatt Bernstein, the only son among four kids, who finally gets his dream of having a loud-mouthed brother when his puppet, Crash, comes to life. Crash brings Wyatt some much needed “boy reinforcement” amidst a household of sisters. Created by Eric Friedman (Austin & Ally, I’m in the Band), the multi-camera series will begin production in Hollywood in May for a Fall 2012 premiere on Disney XD. The announcement was made by Adam Bonnett, senior vice president, Original Programming, Disney Channel.

Bonnett said, “Full of unpredictable wit, Crash & Bernstein is another testament to Disney XD’s commitment to providing unique original programming for boys and their quest for discovery, adventure and humor. The series offers a fresh take on the typical buddy comedy and brings together an everyday kid and his ‘know no limits’ puppet as they navigate life’s adventures.”

Emmy®-nominated puppet master and filmmaker Tim Lagasse (Sesame Street, Between the Lions) will star as Crash.

The pilot was directed by Bruce Leddy (Mad TV). Crash & Bernstein is a production of It’s A Laugh Productions, Inc.

Disney UK announced today the launch of Jakes World, a brand new online destination for kids inspired by Disney Junior’s #1 rating series, Jake and the NeverLand Pirates. The most recent addition to Disney’s successful raft of digital environments, which include BAFTA-nominated Club Penguin, and Disney Channel inspired Superbia, Jakes World will offer kids a fun and immersive experience to complement the new series, which launched this month on Disney Junior.

Aimed at 4 to 7 year olds, Jakes World enhances children’s enjoyment of Jake and the Never Land Pirates by inviting them to interact with Jake and discover a whole range of magical features. Kids are able to create their own avatar and customise an individual pirate hideout, play games with Jake and his crew, and explore Never Land. As children play, they earn rewards, which can be used to enhance their own avatar and pirate hideout.

Upcoming games include Jakes Skate Escape, an obstacle race through three scenes of different terrain, which requires excellent hand-eye coordination and helps kids improve their motor skills. Go Bananas pushes children’s directional skills and coordination as they catch bananas before the greedy Hook. All the games are across three levels and are designed to support early learning skills in a fun and engaging way, as well as stimulate and challenge young minds on a range of levels.

Jakes World is designed to help parents and children to have fun and learn together.  Mums and dads will be encouraged to log on to Facebook and tune in to Disney Junior for various events to unlock bonus content for their kids.

Jake and the Never Land Pirates was the first animated series created for Disney Junior and has achieved huge ratings success in the UK and across EMEA, reaching a total of 4.2 million and 29.5 million[1] individuals respectively in the last quarter alone. The star-studded second season featuring celebrity guest voice artists Sharon Osbourne and David Arquette, premieres on 16th April 2012, with a third season green lit for 2013 on the back of the global success of the series.

Anna Hill, CMO, The Walt Disney Company UK, comments: “We are thrilled to be able to offer young fans of Jake and the Never Land Pirates a magical new way to engage with our number one show.  As with all Disney Junior series, its success is built on using great characters and storytelling to create a real emotional connection with its audience and Jakes World will expand on these themes. Kids have a natural curiosity and sense of fun, and the web is a wonderful way to make new discoveries about familiar friends.”

A unique platform for self-expression and personalisation, Jakes World contains a vast array of engaging content to create a truly unique online experience. As with all Disney’s virtual worlds, Jakes World s a safe online game, giving parents confidence that their children can enjoy the internet securely.
