First Look: Park-Inspired Disney Animal Kingdom Explorers Game
Have you heard? Disney Animal Kingdom Explorers is coming soon and it’s the first social game inspired by our very own Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Yes, it includes “The Tree of Life,” and during game play, you’ll have a chance to create and nurture your own wildlife nature preserve around it – with exotic animals. A few of the game’s locations will be familiar to readers.

When it launches on Facebook, players will also be able to search for hidden objects in some spectacular natural settings, from the Rocky Mountains to the Amazon rainforest to the Australian outback. Coming Soon: The Duckling Gets a Cookie!? By Mo Willems
The Pigeon, Mo Willems internationally best-selling and award-winning avian hero, returns for a fifth adventure in The Duckling Gets a Cookie!?
Duckling, in her first starring role, asks for a cookie—and gets one! Pigeon, who has been unsuccessfully asking for things for years, is NOT happy.
“The Duckling Gets a Cookie!? is probably my most research-heavy book to date,” said Willems. “As the creator, I had to ask tough questions, like ‘What kind of cookie?’ ‘How would the cookie taste?’ and ‘How would another one of the cookies taste?’ This hard work was not done by an assistant; I have the belly to prove it.”
The Duckling Gets a Cookie!? will be available wherever books are sold on April 3, 2012!!
About Mo Willems:
In April 2003, television writer and animator Mo Willems published his first children’s book, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!. What originated quietly as a doodle in a sketchbook for family and friends became a publishing phenomenon and an instant children’s classic. The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog! followed in April 2004; Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! in 2006; and The Pigeon Wants a Puppy! in 2008. Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! was awarded the prestigious Caldecott Honor by the American Library Association and was inducted into the Indies Choice Picture Book Hall of Fame. More than 4 million Pigeon books are in print in the US, with 13 foreign language editions around the world.
Mo Willems has been awarded the Caldecott Honor on two other occasions: for Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale and Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity. In addition to picture books, he wrote the script and lyrics for Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical, commissioned by the Kennedy Center for its 2010 season. The production is currently touring the nation. Mo also created the Elephant & Piggie books, a series of easy readers, which were awarded two Theodor Geisel Medals and two Geisel Honors. He began his career on Sesame Street, where he garnered six Emmy Awards. Mo lives with his family in Massachusetts.

Disney Interactive Media Announces ‘Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two’
One of the most popular games of the last few years was Disney’s ‘Epic Mickey’, which followed Mickey on his quest through the Cartoon Wasteland to save his friends, and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, from the villainous clutches of a Mad Doctor and an evil Shadow Blot. Players of all ages enjoyed the sprawling story, and getting to control Mickey with his paint brush, as they saved his world from ruin. Since it’s release, fans have been clamoring for a sequel to the 2010 hit, and Disney has answered you. Disney has announced ‘Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two’ will be released the fall of this year. Suit Up As The Cast Of The Muppets In Disney Universe
The latest downloadable content for Disney Universe launches today! “The Muppets Costume Pack,” inspired by the hit family comedy, “The Muppets,” is available now for download from Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network. Players can suit up in familiar character costumes, such as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, The Great Gonzo, Fozzie Bear and Animal, and embark on new adventures with their favorite fun loving Muppet.
Coinciding with the Blu-ray and DVD release of Disney’s 2011 hit family comedy, “The Muppets,” Disney Interactive Media Group announced today the availability of “The Muppets Costume Pack” downloadable content for “Disney Universe.” The latest addition to the ever-expanding video game experience is available now on the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network and the PlayStation®Network. “The Muppets Costume Pack” consists of new character costumes inspired by Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, The Great Gonzo, Fozzie Bear and Animal. Each character comes with a costume specific upgradeable tool.
Individual costumes for “The Muppets Costume Pack” are available for download for 99 cents on PlayStation Network or for 80 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE. The complete set of costumes is also available for $2.99 on PlayStation Network or for 240 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE. The latest downloadable content for “Disney Universe” joins the previously released “Phineas and Ferb” level, “The Jungle Book Costume Pack,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas” level and the “Disney Villains Costume Pack.”
Now available on store shelves for the Wii™ system from Nintendo, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC, “Disney Universe” offers a four-person multiplayer action experience, with frenzied gameplay that appeals to players of all ages. Themed environments featured in the game include Disney•Pixar hits “WALL•E” and “Monsters, Inc.,” Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and the Academy Award® winning classics, “The Lion King” and “Aladdin.” The game features 45 classic and contemporary iconic character costumes, including ones inspired by Sam Flynn, Quorra and Clu (“TRON”), Baloo (“The Jungle Book”), Ariel (“The Little Mermaid”), Sulley (“Monsters, Inc.”), Nemo (“Finding Nemo”) and everyone’s favorite pixie, Tinker Bell (“Peter Pan”).
