Soarin’ Around The World
The highly anticipated Soarin’ Around the World opened at both Epcot and Disney California Adventure this morning. The attraction closed for a lengthy refurbishment on January 4, 2016. Guests were able to experience the original Soarin’ for a limited time between May 27th and June 16th before Soarin’ Around the World opened on June 17th. The new version features spectacular new digital projection technology that will transport guests to some of the planet’s most beautiful and awe-inspiring sights.
There were rumors circulating that Patrick Warburton would no longer be the Chief Flight Attendant welcoming guests to Soarin’. Rest assured, Patrick still appears in the pre-flight video for Soarin’ Around the World.
Character Changes
Anna and Elsa have officially left Princess Fairytale Hall as of June 16th in order to prepare for their debut at the new Royal Sommerhus in Epcot on the 21st. Beginning June 17th, Princess Tiana will greet guests alongside Rapunzel at Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom. The other pair of princesses include Cinderella and Aurora. Update: There is a soft opening of Royal Sommerhus in Epcot today, June 17th, and Anna & Elsa are currently meeting guests!
Now that Princess Tiana has moved to Princess Fairytale Hall, she will no longer be appearing with Prince Naveen during meet and greets. Guests can still see them together however in Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade and the new Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire.
Daisy Duck will be leaving Town Square at Magic Kingdom but will continue to greet guests in Storybook Circus at Pete’s Silly Sideshow. Lastly, Snow White can now be found at the Town Square Courtyard located next to City Hall at the front of Magic Kingdom.
Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire
The new stageshow, Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire, premieres on the Cinderella Castle Forecourt stage at Magic Kingdom today. There are six showtimes listed throughout the day at 10:30am, 11:35am, 1:05pm, 2:05pm, 4:15pm and 5:15pm. Be sure to pick up a Times Guide upon entering the park.
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, the new Star Wars themed fireworks display at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will blast off nightly beginning this evening at 9:45pm. State-of-the-art projection effects, dynamic lighting, lasers and pyrotechnics will light up the night like never before. The music, magic and characters of Star Wars combine with special effects and fireworks to put you inside iconic scenes from the Star Wars saga.
Finding Dory Opens Today
“Finding Dory”, the sequel to the 2003 hit Disney Pixar movie “Finding Nemo” opens in theaters nationwide today, June 17th. Guests can head on over to Disney Springs and catch the movie premiere at AMC Disney Springs 24.
Free People Store Opens
Free People opens its newest store at Disney Springs today. The store is a worldwide bohemian-chic women’s clothing brand with 118 stores across the United States and Canada. The new 4,771 square ft venue at Disney Springs will be the eighth Free People store in Florida.
