This is a celebration contest for My Dreams of Disney as we just turned 2 years old this past Saturday! In addition to the blog anniversary and the contest, this past weekend was the time when we decided to migrate My Dreams of Disney from the Blogger platform of blogging to a self-hosted WordPress site, so there is a lot going on at the site!

What is Tables in Wonderland and Where can you use it?

The Walt Disney World Tables in Wonderland program is a great way to enjoy some additional dining discounts if you are an Annual Passholder or Florida Resident. The cost is $100 for Florida Residents and Disney Vacation Club Members, $75 for Annual / Seasonal Passholders and you can even Add a second membership for your spouse or partner for only $50 more! TIW entitles you to 20% off of your meal cost (including alcoholic beverages) for the cardholder and up to nine guests! The card is valid for 13 months from your date of purchase! However, an automatic 18% gratuity is added onto your bill, regardless of how many people are in your party. When we went to Disney last June, we purchased the card because we had a total party of nine people, and this allowed us to maximize our dining savings. We had decided against the Disney Dining Plan because we didn’t want table service reservations for each night, so this was a great option for us.

The Tables in Wonderland card can be used at a lot of different locations throughout Walt Disney World! Here is a comprehensive list for you to keep handy in your smart phones (don’t worry, if you are like me and don’t have a smart phone, you will still be okay because you will get a little booklet with the latest dining locations when you purchase the card). Blu-Ray Review: Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time, there was a Blu-Ray release of the first season of a series that captured the heart and soul of a Disney Generation. Once Upon A Time, Season One, on Blu-Ray, is a collection that you are going to want to own! There are so many incredible details to this, I scarcely know where to begin. For starters, the first season is 22 episodes long, which encompasses five Blu-Ray disks worth of incredible storylines, plot twists, and character development! What is great is that you can sit down, put in disk one, and watch each and every episode without commercial interruptions, pause it when you need to, and you don’t need to wait each week for the next episode!

One interesting thing that they have on the Blu-Rays is a feature called SmartPlay. If you utilize this, you create a profile, start watching, and when you stop, the system remembers where you were, and starts back at that spot when you pick it back up again.

‘The Preacher’s Wife’ Blu-Ray Review

The Preacher’s Wife was originally released in 1996, and starred Denzel Washington, Whitney Houston, and Courtney B. Vance. The movie is the story of a Baptist Preacher, the Reverend Henry Biggs, who is portrayed by Vance, and his wife Julia, who is portrayed by Houston, who have fallen into a bit of a rocky patch in their marriage. The movie takes place during the Christmas season, and at one point in the movie, Rev. Biggs calls out to God for help — that help is delivered in the form of the Angel Dudley, portrayed by Washington.

When things go bad for Rev. Biggs, they go bad. I already mentioned his marital difficulties, but in addition to that, one of the troubled teens from his church was arrested for robbing a liquor store, which he didn’t do. Then, one of his parishioners was in the hospital. Top it all off with a failed boiler, his son’s best friend going out of town to a foster home, and a greedy real estate agent who tried to “buy” Rev. Biggs a new church, and things definitely were not looking up for him.

Reminder: Once Upon a Time, Season One, coming soon!

Once Upon a Time, that series on ABC that took the Disney Nation by storm last year, will be available on DVD and Blu-ray starting August 28, 2012! Chip & Company will be reviewing it, so stay tuned! In case you have forgotten, here is a brief synopsis of what the series is all about:

“Once Upon A Time” the Evil Queen cast an evil spell on an enchanted forest filled with fairytale characters. The curse trapped these characters in a place where all their happy endings were stolen – our world. Now the Evil Queen is acting as town mayor, and all of the inhabitants of the fairytale world of Storybrooke can’t seem to remember any details of their past lives.
