Jake and the Neverland Pirates Izzy Speaks Out – Interview with Madison Pettis
If you have little children and watch Disney Junior, I am sure you have heard and watched Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Catchy songs and fun pirates make this show great for preschoolers and their moms 
! But in case you have missed the show here is what it is all about:
The show revolves around a group of three children (two boys and a girl) who are pirates in Never Land (vs. Peter Pan’s Neverland), looking for treasure. Their main challenges revolve around Captain Hook, Mr. Smee and Tick-Tock the Crocodile from Peter Pan. Captain Hook usually sees Jake and his crew doing something fun and steals it from them, and Jake and his crew have to get it back. After they succeed, Jake and his crew count their gold doubloons (which they receive after solving each “pirate problem”).
I recently had a chance to talk to the only girl pirate on the show, Izzy voiced by Madison Pettis! Both the character Izzy and Madison herself are great girls and I had a great time getting to know a little bit more about both.
Jackie: I have a 5 year old daughter and we LOVE Jake and the Neverland Pirates! What is your favorite part about being on the show?
Madison: I really love playing Izzy, she is such a fun character. Being the only girl on the show, she is all about girl power and strength and that is a lot of fun!
Jackie: Izzy has to be a pretty special character to be the only girl pirate around! Besides her girl power what else makes her special?
Madison: Her Pixie Dust is pretty special! It was only given to Izzy, by the fairies, in case of emergency!
Jackie: Disney’s Jake and the Neverland Pirates: Peter Pan Returns was released to DVD April 3rd, what is your favorite part of the movie?
Madison: That Peter Pan actually shows up! In past episodes there has been mention of him and we can see him in the stars, but until now he has never made an appearance! It makes the movie super special to have him in it!
Jackie: Anything fun coming up on the show you can tell us about?
Madison: Be on the lookout for a lot more songs, we have been recording a lot. They are super catchy!
Jackie: And because we love Disney so much around here I have to ask, You have a birthday in a few months – any chance you will be spending it at Walt Disney World?
Madison: You know what, that is a great idea! I haven’t made any plans yet but we did spend my brothers birthday there a few years ago. Seriously, thank you that was a great idea!!
So fans heading to Disney in the early part of July, keep your eyes out you might catch a glimpse of Jake and the Neverland Pirates star Madison Pettis. She is a very nice young lady at the end of our conversation we chatted a bit about how much I appreciated her kindness and her being a role model for our young kids. Getting to know her a little bit better has made me want to support the show even more. She really cares about what she is doing and is a hard worker! You will also get a chance to see Madison Pettis on a few upcoming episodes of Lab Rats on Disney XD, so be on the lookout for that!

When Jane Quimby is mistaken for an adult during an internship interview at a hip fashion company, Donovan Decker, she gets hired on as an assistant to the all powerful Gray Chandler Murray. The show from there is all about how Jane balances her life as a high school girl – from dances to classes and dating – and her new adult life as the right hand wom-”man” to one of the most powerful people at her new company. High school is hard enough, but keeping such a big secret from everyone except her best friend Billy, even harder! Jane makes it from homeroom to Paris in one episode and baseball games to fashion shows in the next.

Jane By Design has a rating of TV-14 and I agree with the rating. There are some situations that are only appropriate for older eyes. Things that generally go along with high school age kids are apart of this TV show. Although nothing crosses the line I think it is a good rating for the show. I did let my little girl be in the room while I watched but she was busy playing with toys. One thing I really enjoyed was this show was not filled with heavy language, which was refreshing!
I really enjoyed watching Jane By Design and cannot wait for the next season. This show is fun, flirty, and relatable. Everyone has had a dream at some point in there life and it is fun to think about how far you would go to make that happen! You can’t help but find yourself routing for Jane as she goes on her adventure of a lifetime!

iPhone App Review: Where in Walt Disney World?
I am leaving for Walt Disney World early tomorrow morning! Yay! Each trip we take we drive since we only live about 10 hours away. But for my little one that is still a really long drive (for us too!), so I always try to find new things for her to play with and do on the drive down. She LOVES to play on my iPhone and has several games dedicated to Walt Disney World, including a trivia game that she rocks at! So today I downloaded a new app for her called “Where in Walt Disney World.”
“Where in Walt Disney World”, is an interactive game for iPhones that cost $0.99. For only having it a short amount of time I can tell you that I have already gotten my money out of it! It is so fun! There are several categories to choose from, but what happens is you get an up close picture of a ride or restaurant or a thing at Walt Disney World and you have to choose where it is located!
So say I choose the category Magic Kingdom(not shown above, but it is an option I swear!). It will give me a zoomed in picture of something there and first you have to choose which land it is located in from the drop down menu. Next the drop down menu gives you several options of what it could be and you need to choose the right answer! Seriously, this thing can you you busy for hours! It is so much fun!
I think this app is great for kids and adults of all ages. My daughter is 4 and cannot read so I had to read her the option but she got several of them right without any help! The faster you answer the questions the more points you are awarded. It is fun to have competitions with my husband to see who can get the most points!
If you are looking for a fun app to keep you or your kids occupied I would really give this a try! My family has really enjoyed it!
Top 3 Snacks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is such a great Park. Great shows, great parade, great rides, great restaurants and yes… great snacks! For being a smaller park your sure do have so many options to choose from in the snack department! Here are my Top 3 Snacks at Disney’s Hollywood Studio.
#3. Old Fashioned Ice Cream Sundae. - This snack is just the way Mama made it! Old fashioned vanilla with hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry on top! Just 1 snack credit or around $4.50. This sweet sundae is perfect to share on a hot Florida day!
#2. Butterfinger Cupcake at Starring Rolls Cafe. – The Chocolate Butterfinger Cupcake could be one of the most talked about snacks at Walt Disney World, aside from the Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom. People either seem to Love it or Hate it! But to me anything sweet and sticky and crunching gets a big LOVE IT in my book! Here we have a chocolate filled cupcake with vanilla buttercream icing dipped in a hard chocolate and rolled in crushed butterfingers! This snack is massive and super sweet! It is worth sharing with your family! My husband, daughter and I love to share one of these on our Hollywood Studios Day! Make sure to get a few extra napkins! Not going to Hollywood Studios, no worries! You can also find the butterfinger cupcake at Disney Quest in Downtown Disney!
#1. Carrot Cake Cookie at The Writer’s Stop. - Some people run to get on Toy Story Mania first thing when Disney’s Hollywood Studios Opens, I run to The Writers Stop to get myself a Carrot Cake Cookie! The Carrot Cake Cookie is simply amazing. 2 soft and very moist carrot cake cookies are joined by the largest amount of Cream Cheese frosting you could imagine to create a snack that literally melts in your mouth! Pair it with one of the Writers Stop’s amazing coffees, or in my case a Diet Coke, and you have the best breakfast/snack on Walt Disney World property! The Carrot Cake Cookie is a snack on the Disney Dining Plan, so if you are participating it will cost you nothing out of pocket! This snack is certainly big enough to share, but I never do! Some things are better all to yourself!
