Top 10 WDW Rides you must do at night!

Top 10 WDW Rides you must do at night!

Let’s face it: all of the rides in Disney World are awesome. However, some rides are just better experienced at night. Below, I have made a list of ten rides that I think provide a better experience in the evenings. Do you agree with my suggestions?

Splash Mountain

One of the classic rides in the Magic Kingdom, Splash Mountain is considered the best ride to experience at night. Why? That pivotal moment before your car plunges 50ft below, the view of Cinderella Castle is exquisite. Not to mention, the darkness adds quite the thrill to your drop.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Another Magic Kingdom classic, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a runaway train that whisks you through mines and canyons. Since this ride is set outdoors, the thrill factor increases in the darkness of the night especially with the rickety sounds of the out of control train ringing in your ears.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

What is scarier than random free fall drops in the warped Hollywood Hotel? Darkness. The drops are already dark but when the doors open at the top of the elevator shaft and Hollywood Studios sits before you eyes in a nighttime setting, the view is breathtaking and creepy all at the same time.

Top 5 Rides to Avoid if you get Motion Sick

Top 5 Rides to Avoid if you get Motion Sick

I won’t lie – I am a big wuss when it comes to intense rides. However, I have been on all but one of the rides listed below at Walt Disney World and, although they are rather enjoyable, they are top contenders for triggering motion sickness.

1. Expedition Everest

Themed around the infamous Yeti who is hiding in and around a forbidden mountain that it protects, Expedition Everest is located in the Animal Kingdom, located in the section of Asia. A favorite of thrill-seekers everywhere, it features train cars that ride both forwards and backwards. Combining these elements unexpected high speeds and entrances into total darkness at specific intervals during the ride can result in a rather unpleasant experience.

2. Mad Tea Party

Known as one of the classic rides in the Magic Kingdom, the Mad Tea Party can be an unexpected ride to cause stomach upset. It really depends on who you share your ride experience with. The ride features teacups from the animation film, Alice in Wonderland. Guests sit in the teacups, which spin leisurely with the ride. However, in the center of the teacup is a wheel that can be turned to make the cup spin faster. Therefore, if you are prone to dizziness and wish to experience the Mad Tea Party, make sure you ride with someone you trust not to spin it too fast.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey And Donald Have A Farm DVD Review

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey And Donald Have A Farm DVD Review

The latest addition to the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD collection was released on December 11. Featuring five classic episodes, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey And Donald Have A Farm was an instant hit with my little ones. In fact, it was played over and over again.

The five classic episodes include:

  • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey and Donald Have A Farm  - Mickey’s surprise for the Clubhouse is a trip to the farm! But where are all the animals? To keep the bugs away from his prize petunias, Farmer Pete has been using his powerful windmill, but the windmill created such a strong wind that it blew all the farm animals away!
  • Goofy’s Petting Zoo  – 19 animals (eight cows, ten pigs, and one elephant) from the petting zoo escape while Zookeeper for the day, Goofy takes a nap.
  • Clarabelle’s Clubhouse Mooo-sical – Clarabelle stages a musical about nursery rhymes starring chickens from the petting zoo.
  • Goofy The Homemaker – Goofy plans to build a birdhouse for Baby Red Bird and Mommy Red Bird beside the Clubhouse.
  • Donald Hatches An Egg  – Donald cares for a lost egg while his friends search for its family.

The dvd includes a small planting activity kit, making Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey and Donald Have A Farm a wonderful way to get your children excited and engaged with gardening. The activity kit includes a package of seeds (we got lettuce), character garden markers, and fun facts.

I was tickled to see Goofy’s Petting Zoo because it is has been a favorite since my eldest was young and enjoyed the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The ”Shake, Shake, Shake Your Peanut” song will forever remind me of when he was little.

Don’t waste another minute! Dust off those cowboy boots and prepare to lend a helping hand in this farm-tastic barnyard adventure!

Looking for Disney World Christmas Day Church Services?

Looking for Disney World Christmas Day Church Services?

Disney’s Contemporary Resort will once again be hosting Disney World Christmas Day Church Services in the Fantasia Ballroom.

Catholic services will be held at 8am and 10:15am. Protestant services will be held at 9am.

The Contemporary Resort normally limits parking on Christmas Day to their guests only. If you are not staying at the Contemporary Resort, alternate modes of transportation available include traveling via the bus system or monorail. Be sure to allow extra time if your plans include taking the bus system to the Magic Kingdom to travel via the monorail system. The Magic Kingdom is very popular, especially on Christmas Day, and you will probably have to wait for several buses before you finally catch one.
