AllergyFreeMouse.com Announces a Guest Blogging Contest

AllergyFreeMouse.com, the website for Disney fans with food allergies, is hosting a guest blogging contest for a chance to win a $100 Disney Gift Card. The goal is to add more firsthand experiences from other food allergy diners.

“Our readers tell us they really feel more confident after reading about food allergy dining experiences,” said Jeff, Co-Founder of AllergyFreeMouse.com. “We include more than just a simple rating with a few comments. We encourage our guest bloggers to relate the entire experience to our readers.”

AllergyFreeMouse.com is almost a year old and contains an extensive list of tips, planning advice and restaurant reviews compiled by the family that maintains the site. With three years of Disney vacations to pull from, the family has plenty of helpful info to share with the site’s readers. The website also features guest reviewers.

“We started the site for two reasons,” said Liz, Co-Founder. “First, even with the fantastic Special Diets Team at Disney, it’s somewhat confusing to create a food allergy-safe dining schedule while taking into consideration the various dining options, attractions and everything else Disney has to offer. But also, and more importantly, a lot of visitors aren’t even aware of this great food allergy program, and some aren’t aware until after they arrive, having already packed their own food for the trip. We put this information together to raise awareness and assist in planning. It allows people with food allergies to actually take a ‘real vacation’ with more confidence.”

There is also a great list of Disney Cruise tips (contributed by another family), plus a few mentions of Disneyland. There are future plans to add more content for both Disneyland and Disney Cruise Lines.

The contest is meant to encourage other families with different food allergies to share their experiences. Contributing the experiences they have had dining with multiple food allergies is also encouraged. The winner will be determined by the readers, using a “thumbs up” voting system on the website, as well as via “Likes” on Facebook.

“We hope this also encourages more people to invite their friends to view their guest reviews, helping us spread the word about the great Disney food allergy program,” Jeff says. “Living with one or more food allergies is tough, and we want everyone to know there is a fabulous place to vacation that takes food allergies as seriously as you do.”

The current contest runs through April 23rd and entries are already rolling in. Send yours to contests@allergyfreemouse.com as soon as possible to start acquiring votes. Details can be found here: http://www.allergyfreemouse.com/2012/01/guest-blogging-contest/

  1. My granddaughter has a peanut allergy and going to Disney was a wonderful journey. They went out of their way to help and accommodate us with the allergy. One of the chefs even came out to ask us what we would like for desert because of her allergy. They made us something special and help to make it special for her. Thank you Disney for making it easy to go back with this scary allergy that makes everyday life a test.
