I am sure that being at Disney World for Christmas is dreamy but, since we spend our holiday at home, we love bringing Disney into our home for Christmas. Through the years we have accumulated many beloved treasures that keep us in the spirit and brighten every day of our holiday season. Coming up to the door gives our friends a little hint of what they might expect inside. We love to have family and friends over during the holidays.
Nothing says you are welcome, wanted and loved like Mickey greeting you with a “Ho, Ho, Ho” as soon as you walk in! Mickey has a sensor on his foot so once you pass in front of him he is welcoming you with his sweet little voice. It really puts us in the holiday spirit.
Just inside our home we adorn our entry way table with our modest little Disney village. We collect these pieces by purchasing one per year after the holidays when they go on sale.
We have been collecting ornaments for our tree for many years. It is one of the things we look forward to most during our annual November trips – choosing what this year’s ornaments will be. My kids spend a while in the Days of Christmas store at Downtown Disney to make sure they choose just the right one and they are always great ones! As you can see, our tree is full of them.
And of course Mickey & Minnie are atop the tree with a smooch!
Our fireplace is home to all of our special Disney stockings. Mickey and Minnie also cozy up on a bunch of poinsettias below.
Our kitchen and dining room are decorated too. We tend to congregate in these areas (heritage hazard) so we have to keep up the Disney Christmas spirit in here. Nothing says Christmas like a bunch of Mickeys and a plateful of cookies!
We decorate as many areas of our home as we possibly can. We really enjoy having all of our treasures out to make our home feel more like Disney. Someday we may visit Disney World at Christmastime but for now we enjoy having a Disney Christmas at home. I love all the deocrations especially the villages!! I have never seem Disney ones!! I love the pirate stocking too…..where did you find that?! I would love one for my son!!
