Call me a nerd:  I love the Carousel of Progress.  Walt’s last attraction, built for the 1964 World’s Fair, sits in a corner of Tomorrowland and tells the story of the 20th Century through vignettes that take place in the family kitchen.  The music is kind of corny (although in the interest of full disclosure, it’s the ringtone on my phone), but the sets are very detailed and accurate.  The narration is fun and even though the last scene, which takes place somewhere in the 1990s, is impossibly outdated, it’s still great entertainment.  How could you not love a ride that affords you twenty relaxing minutes sitting in blissful air conditioning while listening to silly jokes, a couple of which are unintentionally dirty. Well, if you have the sense of humor of a twelve-year old boy.  Which I do.

The COP isn’t always open all day during slower times of the year and it’s usually closed during special events like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.  For all the ribbing  COP gets,  it’s still a much-loved attraction, a part of the history of the park and of the people who visit it.  Next time you’re in the park, don’t forget to stop by.
