So the July 2011 deadline is approaching fast and it seems Marvel still hasn’t picked out the actor to play Captain America in The First Avenger: Captain America film.
The latest news is that Chris Evans, who already logged Marvel Comics superhero time as Johnny Storm/Human Torch in two Fantastic Four films will be trying out for the Captain. Add him with the long list of other actors and you have yourself a buffet of man meat just chomping at the fork wanting to be apart of this movie.
Actually I wonder if the major hold up is the low salary the actors being told they would make for the film. Marvel informed them that the job would include options for 9 future films and a salary of only around $300,000 each. Seems very low to me.
With this BIG casting speed bump I cant image a year will be a long enough time to make a movie of this caliber. I hope I am wrong and whoever they decide will be great. I just hope to not be staring down the cane of another Daredevil movie.
