A quick news update from Disney Park Blog:

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has officially broken ground for what will be the largest expansion in the history of Magic Kingdom Theme Park – Fantasyland.

Just look at the images from the 1/4 inch dimensional model… it’ll be remarkable when completed. There will be four Disney classic-inspired areas or neighborhoods to explore. And one of the most unique offerings in those neighborhoods will be new interactive Storybook adventures with your favorite Disney princesses.

And parents take note…Dumbo the Flying Elephant, a beloved MK Attraction, will take center stage on its own new mini land with the addition of a second attraction. You’ll be invited to take part in a series of interactive experiences inside an air-conditioned three-ring circus tent. Of course, there’s much more to the expansion, but we wanted to share news of the groundbreaking with you first. Check the blog for future updates.

The expansion project is scheduled to be completed in 2013.

Broadway Star Sings for the Elephants
Jo Anne Worley, of Laugh-In fame, sings her heart out for the elephants in a new original song and music video.
Jo Anne Worley is a one-of-a-kind commodity and certainly no shrinking violet when it comes to entertaining. Like several of her “Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In” cohorts, Jo Anne Worley zoomed to overnight cult stardom in the late 1960s but, in her case, was able to extend her wild and woolly popularity to several other levels. Over the years, she has situated herself nicely into Broadway musical theater productions, game shows, talk shows, commercials, and even animal causes.

”I have a big mouth, and I'm sorry to say I've always had one. When I was young, in church, I never sang with everybody else. I only mouthed the hymns, so I wouldn't drown everyone else out,” Worley says. “I have my quiet moments. But I don't have many.” Now in the new music video 'They Don't Wanna Be in Show Business' she is speaking up and singing loud and clear for elephants in zoos and circuses.

Producer Patty Shenker ('Life Behind Bars' with Mary Tyler Moore) was inspired to make the music video for animals. “I decided that I wanted to make a fun, but educational video to put on YouTube about animal issues,” she says. “I contacted my friend and animal advocate Bill Dyer to help with the song.” Bill Dyer, Regional Director of 'In Defense of Animals' and the lyricist of the song comments, “The animals are so abused and exploited in zoos and circuses and I wanted to write something about that dark side of show business. I thought it made sense to take a light hearted approach to a very serious issue so that it could be informative as well as entertaining. Jo Anne Worley was a perfect fit.”
