Mobile Wait Times for Android & Pre Now Available
For the Android user who wants to go to Walt Disney World and needs to know the wait time for certain attractions in the famous park, TouringPlans.com has a solution. Lines, a mobile website that displays estimates of wait times for every attraction at Walt Disney World.
The folks at TouringPlans have launched in the past products such as Touring Plans and the Crowd Calendar to help the visitors at Walt Disney World to efficiently tour the parks and avoid the crowds. And now, Lines is available for Android as well as for the first and second webOS phones; Palm Pre and Pixi, oh, and the fruit phone too. With this service, they will help you to “Find out how long you’ll actually wait in line for every attraction.†And not only that but you can also “Get crowd estimates, refurb data, single rider lines, & more.â€

Disney names new president of Disney Channels
Walt Disney Co on Tuesday named Carolina Lightcap president of Disney Channels Worldwide, replacing Rich Ross, who left to head up the company’s movie studio in October.
Ross is credited with turning the Disney Channel into a powerhouse of “tween” programing aimed at 7 to 12-year-old kids. He took over Disney’s film studio after the abrupt departures of Disney Studios Chairman Dick Cook in September and of Miramax Films President Daniel Battsek last month.
Lightcap joined Disney in 2000 and most recently served in the dual roles of senior vice president of programing and creative affairs for Disney Channels Latin America, and chief marketing officer for Walt Disney Co’s Latin American unit.
Disney also named Gary Marsh to the new post of chief creative officer in addition to his current title of president of entertainment for Disney Channels Worldwide. He reports to Lightcap.
Earlier this month, Disney also said that two top executives, Chief Financial Officer Tom Staggs and Chariman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Jay Rasulo, will swap jobs.
Disney’s Armed Forces Salute 2009
Saluting our men and women of the armed forces this holiday Disney is offering a discount for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets.
Adults 10 and Up: $36.40 plus tax
Children 3-9: $32.20 plus tax
Discounted tickets for Active and Retired U.S. Military, including Coast Guard and active National Guard or Reservists. Can purchase up to 5 additional tickets for family or friends. ID requirements are the same as the 5-day Disney’s Armed Forces Salute tickets.
NOT available at Military Bases or Shades of Green. Purchase does not specifically have to be day of event (i.e. can purchase Dec 3rd tickets on Dec 2nd), but the purchase must and can only be made at Guest Relations/Ticket Counters at the parks.

Epcot
- Candlelight Processional with celebrity narrators; World Showcase Storytellers, and a special finale to IllumiNations. Presented at America Gardens Theatre in Epcot at 5, 6:45 and 8 p.m. nightly, November 27 through December 30, the Candlelight Processional features celebrity narrators who retell the joyous Christmas story. New celebrities set to perform in the annual holiday presentation include Isabella Rossellini, Vanessa Williams, and Whoopi Goldberg. The schedule (subject to change) is as follows:

How to Carve a Holiday Turkey Like a Disney Parks Chef
Sure, carving a turkey can be intimidating — most of us only do it once or twice a year. But for chefs at Disney Parks, it’s routine. They’ll carve thousands of turkeys this holiday season and they’ll make it look easy.
To make sure you can pull it off, Walt Disney World executive chef Lenny DeGeorge is offering a quick how-to. He says start with the drumstick:
To safely carve your holiday turkey, it’s important to give yourself some room to operate and make sure you’re using a sharp knife, according to Chef Lenny. And he says if you get intimidated by carving the turkey in front of the family, there’s nothing to be ashamed about preparing it in the kitchen before bringing it to the table. Good luck.
